Clear amber color, very creamy off-white head, lace. Yeasty, spicey nose. Hoppy bitterish and yeasty flavor. Chalky mouthfeel. Drinkable, but a bit restless. Not very Christmasy. Thanks Papsoe.

Pours pitch black with shortlasting creamy light brown head. Aroma is coffee and hard roasted malt, citric/orange notes too. Taste is coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Sweet and citric notes blend in. Lasting coffee bitterness in the finish. I guess I’m beer/coffee addicted :)

Bottle. Beige head on top of a clear, golden body. The aroma is sweet, with some caramel, some floral hops and bitterness. The flavor has a nice hop-level, with sweet malt and some grassy notes. Medium body and a fruity-hoppy finish. As often, Gourmetbryggeriet delivers, but I wish they could challenge a bit. (070216)

660ml bottle (bb.13.09.07) from Vinmonopolet. Very nice red-brown body under a frothy, brown-yellow head and with good clarity. Inviting fresh aroma of malts and hops. Zesty flavour supported by sweet anise, coffee and a slightly yeasty touch towards the end. Hidden alcohol. Rounded vinous mouthfeel and (almost) full bodied. At a social gathering the beer went very well as a partner to Bacalao (salted and dried cod) (09.02 and 17.02.2007).

Bottled. A very dark brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is very strongly chocolaty - milk chocolate, but also with lighter notes of coffee, and some oranges, and violets. The flavor is quite sweet, but at the same time very dry and woody, with very strong notes of hard roasted malt, combined with a smooth chocolate note, and bitter coffee notes, the end is even drier with notes of both chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt lingering for a long time. The body is quite strong. Nice.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of over ripe fruits, prunes, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is very sweet with a weird strong spicy note, some cinnamon, and cloves, but also notes of caramel, alcohol, herbs, over ripe fruits, and prunes, leading to a dry and slightly metallic end. The alcohol makes it thick, but with a weird watery middle. The flavor is weird going off in too many directions at the same time.

Bottle. Clear golden copper body with a white head. Aroma is malty and caramel. Flavor is sweet, light roasted caramel and some hops. Not a typical weizen or dunkelweizen but quite nice anyway.

3 L bottle shared with my staff, 5 for appearance covers the fantastic beautiful 3 L bottle. Pours almost clear orange. White head. Hoppy, corn and grass aroma - some sweetness as well. Sweet flavour blended with malt - has the grass/hoppy notes at the sweet bitter finish.
