Good cream-coloured head, dense, over red-brown beer, faintly veiled. Perfumed nose, sweet rosepetal-like aroma. Amandine, some lightly coloured malts. Boozy, dark(er) malts basic beer with a serious dash of cheap whisky. Almonds, human sweat. Alcoholthinning, alcoholheat, medium carbonation. No. This one is way too easy, too cheap. Alcoholinfused, instead of Barrel aged. Txs to Stef!

Very good, dense, ligth cream-coloured head, irregular, over veiled orange beer. Rather spicy nose, fruity esters & fusels, faintly toasted malts, bit of citrus(liqueur). Pretty dry, partly sweet - again liqueurish - flavour. Citrus/orange, spices. Malts less prominent than in the nose. Again fruity esters, dominating, certainly warming up. Main taste is neutral, but the warming makes it sweeter. Quite slick, almost oily feel. Well-carbonated; dry finish and aftertaste. Decent tripel. Pittem must be far from Antwerpen - here Ferre ≡ Grignard. No idea where I got this one.

Bottled. Hazy orangeish golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is sweet malts, mild fruits, yeast and some slight spiciness. Flavour is spices, fruits, some sweet malts, alcohol and some slight toffee and mild nectar.

Donkergeel bier met schuim. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van banaan, wat citrus en abrikoos. Gewoon een heel goede tripel.

Levendig oranjebruin bier met mooie stevige schuimkraag. Smaak is bitter hoppig met iets van tropisch fruit en wat citrus. Heeft een fijne en aangename zachte geur die het perfect aanvult. Één van de betere IPA's wat mij betreft.

La brasserie Maenhout nous propose avec cette Hoppa Hontas, une belle utilisation de l'Amarillo, bien servie par un très bon équilibre. Je suis moins fan de l'étiquette, quelque peu kitch et manquant de classe avec son iroquoise sexy. Le visuel est sur un blond doré qui tire sur l'orange. L'effervescence est moyennement soutenue avec une mousse blanc cassé crémeuse et généreuse qui se stabilise à 1,5 cm d'épaisseur. Le nez, sur les fleurs et les agrumes est sympathique. En bouche, c'est agréable et bien fait avec des arômes d'orange amère et pamplemousse un peu plus présent qu'au nez. L'équilibre malt/houblon est bien pensé avec une amertume pas exceptionnellement poussée mais suffisante. La corpulence est honnête, et le final, long, bien que sobre. Pas exubérant mais bien fait et appréciable.
