Description
Jamex Brewing is the brainchild of Jeff and Kat Kaye.

They first were introduced to the craft beer world after spending several years in San Diego. They were immediately enamored with the craft beer culture. It was so laid back, creative, and inviting!

Jamex Brewing Co. prides itself on its use of a large variety of high quality malts, hops, and yeast strains in order to produce exceptional and true-to-style flavors. We purchase ingredients locally whenever possible.

Our small 2-barrel batch system gives us the ability to experiment and try new recipes all the time. We were tired of going to breweries and drinking the same thing every time. We wanted to have new beers on tap weekly so customers would always have a new beer to fall in love with every 7 days.

We are proud to be a part of Michigan’s newest beer city and take great pride in serving the very best beer for the very best people!

We love you St Clair Shores!

Brewery draught, 11/17/23. Clear amber, small, beige head sits at light cover. Big Diacetyl, rich toffee, red fruits, some herbs and spice from hops. OMG so good. I love when Diacetyl is actually a plus. Seems intentional here. It's light but deep and deliciously butter. Floral, herbal hops, and fruity esters balance. Deep but well-attenuated malts provide toffee and honey. Clean with lingering mineral, floral and peppery bitterness to refresh.

Brewery draught (C02), 11/17/23. Clear dark. Small tan head quickly to edges. Chocolate and dainty chili pepper. Light caramel and light vanilla notes. Very clean. Super malty, rich, chocolatey, even a bit a syrup to it, with excellent pepper, vanilla, chocolate, caramel notes pretty well-homogenized. Pepper is strong but not overbearing. Just can't get over how malty this is and yet still well balanced.

Brewery draught, 6/18/23. Medium-light amber, clear. Large, beige head, well-retained. Nose is lightly spicy, lightly herbal hops with rich base malts and clean, snappy yeast. No heavy specialty malts, flaw, alcohol noted. Soft, very malty, with incredible depth and still appropriate attenuation. Honey, white bread, hints of red fruit from specialty malts, snappy yeast and gentle hops for balance and complexity. Wow, shocked at how well-malted these two beers I've had from here are. Definitely going back as soon as I can to try more.

Brewery draught 6/18/23. Light haze, muted brass. Small, white head, moderate-to-low retention. Nose is rich malts, nutty wheat and well-aged lactic acidity. Not punchy/dirty, overly acidic. Clean. Soft, rich, malty, nutty, slick and with excellent lactic acidity. Definitely properly aged and showing plentiful maltiness to take some of the focus off the lactic acidity. Though of course it's still plenty tart.

Draft at 8 Degrees Plato. Pours a clear chestnut brown with a finger of off-white foam that lingers. Toasted malt nose and faint coffee bean aromas as it warms. Smooth, great carbonation. Toasted toffee and grain malt. This is a really nice altbier.
