Bottle at a restaurant. Aroma is dark malt with light roast, caramel, a slight touch of chocolate, dried dark fruits and metallic notes. Flavour is medium sweet with some roasty bitterness in the finish. Body is medium but feels a bit thin considering the abv. Average Dubbel made a little bit more interesting through the use of chocolate malt, but suffers from an insufficient body.

Bottle from a restaurant. Aroma is pale malt, spicy yeast, some honey, coriander, and a touch of orange peel. Flavour is sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. This is pretty much the "Dorps Leven" Blonde on steroids with a little more sweetness.

Fles gedeeld met LiekevdV, Inoven, Keukeman en Roelzie. Het is een donkerbruin bier. Het heeft een aroma van whisky en hout. De smaak is vol houtig, zacht en whisky achtig.

Pours a clear, lighter amber. medium to medium large, stable white head. Scent is BE yeast, but fairly bright and inviting, rather than cloying and annoying. Mild crisp ambermalts. So far, not a bad start ! Taste is A bit bitter, folowed by fairly crisp maltyness and BE yeast. Has a certain ... Chewyness to it. Very mild DMS perhaps? Mildly sweet finish , which is enhanced by the esters. Nothing exceptionnal, but nothing bad either. DMS That might(!) be there , is very low, even for me (as I'm quite sensitive to it) and surely not worthy of a red flag. Hence, good enough quality, just nothing specific about it - though i must say the bitterness and 'brightness' it has, makes it better than expected.

Bottle from Beer in a Box. A different take on 'Triple IPA' with added orange peel, why the coriander? Just seems ill-defined. Mostly orange, moderate bittersweet. Not sure what this is supposed to be.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is malty and spicy with a touch of beerenburg. Picking up dark malts, caramel, clove and a hint of liquorice. Moderate to medium sweet with a light bitterness. Medium body. Likeable.

Bottle at home shared with Laura. Opaque black color, virtually no head. Aroma and flavor are malts, dark malts, peat, malt bitter, roast bitters. Hmm perhaps lightly oaked. A bit unbalanced imo. Drinkable but other than that mwah.
