Can at home in Canaan - picked up from then Cummington Co-Op. pours hazy orange-gold with a creamy, white head. Fun stuff, strong grapefruit character, some rindy bitterness, a little grass. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more bitter grapefruit character. Good stuff.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Appearance is hazy, orange-yellow with fine, dark sediment in suspension and several larger chunks at the bottom of the glass, fair sparkle, finger-width fizzy white head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong herbal/cat piss, floral with lighter citrus. Taste is astringent, musky citrus and light herbs. Palate is light bodied with thin, smooth texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not a great look and the palate is too thin for the style. While the aroma and taste are kind of aggressive and the components wouldn't seem all that complementary on the surface, they morph into each other fairly well.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Julio's Liquors. Appearance is murky orange-yellow with large chunky floaties moving about in fair sparkle like a dirty snow globe, finger-width foamy white head with poor retention and mild leggy lacing. Aroma is lemon and orange citrus, milder grapefruit and tropical fruit. Taste is sweet orange and lemon citrus, tropical fruit, mild grapefruit. Palate is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, soft-to-average carbonation and dry, crisp mix of sweet citrus and bitter finish. Overall, really nice aroma/flavor and palate and, if I'm reading the canned on date correctly, this is 10 months old! Too bad it really looks like hell, though.

Pours hazy gold into a snifter. Bright white head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Sweet caramel apple aromas. Sweet with hot caramel and green apple upfront turning to cloying butterscotch in the medium length finish.

Draught at Brewer's Tap, 6/27/18.
Dark ebony, undetermined clarity with a not-quite-tan head that fades very quickly to a ring.
Not a whole lot going on in the nose, those there's nothing bad/off either. Some light vinous-like roasted barley, a hint of raisin, licorice and a touch of coffee-like fruitiness.
Licorice, vinousness, light coffee and a healthy of dose of bitter, dark chocolate-like roast comprise the flavor. It's on a soft, very dry canvas with very little heft. Extremely easygoing with very little sweetness nor any syrup or thickness to the body. Light, dry, moderately roasty, quite English. Low, mostly engaging carbonation and no alcohol or flaw. Hard to believe this is 10.5%. Feels more like 6%. But I suppose that's not a bad thing.

Draught at Brewer's Tap and Table, 6/27/18.
Clear, mahogany-auburn with a medium-sized, dark beige head atop showing strong retention.
Fruity yeast with nutty specialty malts that don't take things too far (no big bread, iced tea, pretzel, wood, etc...). Lightly herbal hops brighten things somewhat. Seems dry with a good minerality and excellent cleanliness.
Doesn't disappoint in the mouth. Super clean with snappy hops balancing a soft maltiness and good dryness throughout. Fruitiness plays against hop and roast bitterness, as well. Tons of flavor for its size, very drinkable with a near-perfect texture/carbonation/balance/attenuation, etc....ALMOST makes you like brown ales. Tons of respect for having the courage to make this beer.

Undated can drunk 6/26/18.
Minimally hazy, rosy-peach-to-copper body is topped by a frothy, white head showing strong retention.
Oatmeal is actually noticeable in the nose with a sort of cascade-like hop character that lends notes of pine, grapefruit, lemon and light potpourri/tea. Definitely not a NE, then. Clean, and not hugely aromatic, perhaps the oat dulls things a bit? No resin, flaw or alcohol.
In the mouth it's moderately bitter with notes of pine, lemon, tea and white grapefruit seen in the nose. It doesn't get resinous, however and displays the typical perfect texture/carbonation that I've come to expect from these guys. Lightly sweet malt character emerges with warming, on the finish and provide good balance to the engaging bitterness. Oat-like notes are still noticeable and quite enjoyable. Very cool that this hop schedule allows it to come through. Awesome stuff, as always and clean with no resin whatsoever.

Can pour into rocks glass from Andover Liquors. Appearance is beautiful amber with haze created by tons of light and dark floaties, effervescent sparkle, finger-width creamy beige head with good retention and decent soapy lacing. Aroma is strong caramel, brown bread, candied sugar, lightly tart fruit. Taste is candied fruit, caramel, alcohol, cardboard. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation, slight numbing of the lips, and sweet candied sugar/caramel finish. Overall, decent features for the style. Nice.
