Cloudy amber; aroma of alcohol, peaches, prunes, grapes and a depth of malt; palate of caramel, flowery hops, japanese apples, and a medicinal, essence-like cherry note like Belle Vue Kriek. The palate is smooth, and finishes a little bit like brandy.

Definitely noticeable alcohol presence, with a definite warming effect. The beer actually had a medium body, though, which made this brew amazingly easy to drink. Interesting hop character for a Belgian ale. Yeasty/bready aroma was typical for a Belgian strong ale.

Quite easy-going for its size. A muscular and complex strong ale. The name Scaldis is a load of crap, though. Just call it Bush like the rest of the world.
