Burk från Kros Strain, 2022. Svart med brun krämig krona. Fat, toffee och rejält med lönnsirap i doften. Samma i smaken. Mycket lakrits, choklad, toffee. Väldigt straight forward på bästa sätt. Lönnsirap i förgrunden utan att det blir för mycket. Medan de andras 2 åriga fatlagrade stouts är lite mer kärva är lönnsirap lite mer förlåtande här. Mycket gott.

Can from Tavour: pours clear gold with a white head. Buttery, bready, slightly grainy. Taste is sweet, lightly bitter. Pleasant.

Draft/Fest. A- Funk, oak, cherry. A- Brown color, hazy liquid, minimal head. T- Tart cherries, oak, acidic. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, acidic finish. O- It does what it's mean to do and hits the style and profile perfectly. Nice stuff. A bit on the acidic side for me but the flavor is great.

Draft/Fest. A- Pistachio, chocolate, mild cherry, ice cream. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Sweet, pistachio, chocolate, mild cherry, ice cream. P- Full body, creamy texture, average carbonation, sweet finish. O- Wow, this was nice and full of flavor. I haven't had spumoni but I suspect this is what it tastes like melted. Loads of pistachio ice cream flavor and chocolate and some cherry but less so. Definitely sweet but very tasty. This only beer I had two pours of during the fest.

Burk från Kros Strain. Kolsvart med nätt och försvinnande brun krona. Stor och fyllig, massor av fat, snyggt integrerat. Lakrisal och Bourbon i utandningen, i botten mycket kakao och mörk choklad, och ännu längre bak snygga vaniljtoner. Sötman väl tillbakahållen. Väldigt snyggt och gott.

Burk från Kros Strain. Mörk rostbrun med nätt beige krona. Snyggt, elegant och något mer åtstramad i jämförelse med tidigare varianter. Doftar och smakar av kola, höstlöv, snällt kryddig, snäll russinton och fruktighet, och massor, massor av fat och bourbon. Känns lite lättare och lite mer spelutrymme åt fatet. Gott och snyggt.

12 oz can, $2.49 single at HyVee Ankeny. Clear, straw-colored helles pour, under a sudsy head. Smell is mostly light malty helles, with just some green chiles at the edge. Taste is actually pretty well balanced. I get light lager malt at first, and THEN a slow-building burn, mostly of fresh jalapeño. But the habanero stays pretty closely behind. I'm a guy who claims chili beer as a favorite style. So I try be authoritative in saying this a good chile-head beer, and a proper heat match to the light style.

Liten burk från Kros Strain. Väldigt mörk brunsvart, närmre svart, men nätt liten försvinnande beige krona vid aggressiv upphällning. Mängder av mörk torkad frukt och fat i kombination. Russin, torkad aprikos, fikon, katrinplommon. Stor sötma som balanseras upp något av lätt syrlighet från de fruktiga tonerna. Viss ton av umami doftmässigt, men inget som stör. Stor, kletig, fruktigt söt som ett portvin/sherry och sen fat. Dekadent gott.

Can/Fest. A- Malt, faint dark fruit. A- Copper color, clear liquid, beige head. T- Malty, dark fruits. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. o- Pretty good. Lots of malt and dark fruit leaning on the side of raisins and a tad bit roasty with a light biscuit throughout.
