Deep and ever so slightly hazy and muddied brownish glow with a deep amber and copper tinted body with a thinnish tan head that fades very quickly and a bit of an orange and bronze glow. Aroma of light malt and nuts with some metallic notes, a good deal of caramelised sugars and a touch of subdued lager yeast with some breadiness noticeable. Medium-bodied; Strong rich earthy malts show at first with a strong nuttiness as well and a lot of caramelised sugars with a crisp toffee-like and slightly candy-ish sweetness towards the end. Aftertaste shows the caramelised sugars and yeastie flavours more than anything with a faint-ish malt backbone and some softer grainy and deep bready flavours, but those aren't strong and there really isn't any nuttiness at all. Overall, a relatively nice and smooth marzen, with a lot of scents and flavours up front that fade to a relatively simplistic, malt and yeast finished beer with some very light sugars, but low on complexity throughout. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 18-September-2020 for US$3,86 sampled at my house here in Washington on 09-October-2020.

Very hazy straw and light golden coloured body with a very dense three to four centimetre tall off-white head that is fairly soapy and shows an ugly lace on the sides after a few seconds. Aroma of pineapple, guava, oranges, apples and a dash of lemons, but some alcohol is noticeable as well, along with a good malt backbone. Medium to Full-bodied; Very rich fruit flavours dominate with a lot of pineapple, some resinous and syrupy juice and a kick of dry floral and grassy notes, but the malts make this very chewy throughout and the additional sugars that are unfinished cloy the end of this one - in a bad way. Aftertaste is pungent - strong and very sweet and chunky; Almost more malt and sugars than anything else, but the hops that do come through are very fruity and especially tropically. Overall, deep, strong and very pungent. Nice for the haze, the fruits and complexity, but the body, syrup, malt and alcohol hit makes this a bit too pungent for the style. Nice to try fresh, but definitely worth passing over, since there are so many options in this style nowadays. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 21-August-2020 for US$4,31 sampled at my house here in Washington on 24-August-2020.

Draft at Meridian Pint. Poured a hazy medium-dark orange color with a medium sized, white head. Aroma was pleasant yeasty citrus, some dusty notes. Lots of pleasant orange citrus here. Easy to drink.
