Description
Brouwerij De Smedt werd opgericht omstreeks 1790. Tussen 2000 en 2003 werd ze stapsgewijs door Heineken overgenomen, wat resulteerde in een naamsverandering in Affligem Brouwerij. Op 1 mei 2010 werd het vennootschap "Affligem Brouwerij BDS" opgeheven en werd het een onderdeel van Alken-Maes c.q. Heineken België. Vandaag is de brouwerij in Opwijk vooral het kennis- en brouwcentrum voor alle Affligembieren.

Bottled 250ml. -from Spar La Plagne Bellecote as Affligem Blanche. Hazy yellow coloured, medium sized white head, wheaty coriander nose. Wheaty, coriander, light lemony and bitterish finish. Not bad.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Somewhat dark gold with white top, modest retention. Aroma has that Belgium yeastiness, sweet malt and hints of floral bitterness. Taste of sweet malt, white sugar, banana, caramel and a bitter light hoppy floral finish. Medium to full bodied, nice soft to fine carbonation. As I post this review the beer is a top 4% Tripel on RateBeer but I'm not really getting that. Nice beer but lacks complexity to be top level. Brewery #1010

Bottle 0,33ltr: Hazy orange looking triple from De Smedt(Heieneken). This is fine example of the style if try learning drinking Triples.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Hazy brown coloured brew with an nice sweet spicy taste and some fine hints of caramel. Nice beer for the Christmas time, easy and good.
