Description
Founded in 2008, Camba originally served as showroom for brewery plant manufacturer BrauKon. Markus Lohner, founder of BrauKon and Camba, used the small brewery located in Truchtlaching to demonstrate clients from all over the world what BrauKon brewing equipment could do. With success: Camba soon became one of the first breweries in Germany to brew international beer styles and a pioneer of the German craft beer scene. In 2016, Camba Bavaria and BrauKon had to find a bigger location and moved to the village of Seeon,

250ml bottle @ 10% purchased somewhere in Malaysia and around 10 years old. Poured a murky dark brown colour with a lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty, light red berry fruits, boozy alcohol. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, with a rich, roasty, dry, oaky, boozy, earthy, liquorice bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. Better than expected in some ways, but still not great.

0.44 l can from 'Craftbeershop.com', best before June 2026. Slightly hazy, amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently yeasty-spicy, a bit fruity-floral aroma of banana, clove, honey and light pear. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, quite yeasty-spicy and a little fruity-floral taste of banana, clove, grains, honey and light pear, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Interesting one, very much resembles a Hefeweizen, not surprising, of course, looking at the list of ingredients.

Can picked up directly from the brewery shop in Seeon, during their recent beer festival which btw was great. Had this sat out in the garden Easter 🐰 Monday 21st April 2025 after building a blackberry trellis. Pours hazy yolky yellow/orange with a large white head, tbh I wasn't quite sure how too categorise this, so pleased someone else has, however it's a very nice style crossover. Nice hoppiness, quite full mouthfeel, nice sweetness, a light fruitiness and a touch of spice, it's a good beer.
