Description
With a foundation in homebrewing in 1992, Paul Kavulak set about to experiment within a hobby that would prove both entertaining and, at times, refreshing. Over a period of roughly 13 years, and with the able assistance of his wife Kim, this activity led to the opening of the Nebraska Brewing Company’s brewpub in Shadow Lake Towne Center in Papillion, Nebraska, on November 17, 2007. A new production brewery and taproom were opened in January of 2014. Located on the south side of the Omaha Metro, but still a large part of the Omaha Craft Beer scene.

Thanks Adrien. dark orange, 2 finger off white head. Smells nice. light yeasty, some oak, grapefruit, vanilla. Bitterness is nice, tropical, and some yeast tastes, sourdough, not a lot of wine or barrel presence. Nice finish, pretty good mouthfeel

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a good thirty seconds. Messy lacing stuck nicely around the glass.
The smell had a decent blend of sweet caramel malts to bitter citrus hops.
The taste was divided a bit as the bitter citrus came and went through the caramel malts. It didn’t seem to combine as well. A light citrus aftertaste bled into a dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a dry feel running over my tongue. Decent sessionability.
Overall, well, if anything, everything seems to be there, mostly balanced but somewhat not blending right in the taste. Is this old? Wish there was a date somewhere on the can.

Tap at Blind Tiger, Nyc. Nut brown color, good off-white head. Aroma has caramel and light toasted maltyness. Medium-bodied. Some caramalt in front, then bready notes with earthy hoppyness. Short, even watery finish. Simple.

An opaque gold with an eggshell white head of foam. The nose is yeasty fruity and quite belgian like. Smooth silky wheaty mouthfeel but a bit watery. The taste is nicely fruity but lacking in the spiciness I look for in a weizen. Alright.

Sampled at festival. Dry and bitter, some alcohol and there are hops as well. One of the more dry barleywines I have had in a long time. Aftertaste is dry with more alcohol.

A good American hefeweizen. Lots of banana. Some bubbblegum, but a thin palate. It is enjoyable, but not a match for the best German hefeweizens.

Can from Total Wine in Lynwood, WA. Pours bright gold with a hint of orange and a slight white head. Aroma of light roast malt and some nice stone fruit and possibly tropical fruit. Med body at least. Flavor indicates tropical fruits, and there is a roasty malt backbone. It has some hop bite. It’s not wholly dry, and it’s not extremely bitter, but it’s a pretty tasty beer. Good for when the taster needs a bit of relaxation.
