On tap at the brewpub. It’s an unclear, brown-amber beer topped by a small, light beige head. The aroma is lightly malty, caramel, chocolate and pine cones. A bit simple, but pleasant. That goes for the flavor too, the malts plays a significant part, but there’s also room for the hops. Pine cones and bitterness. Caramel and some chocolate in the finish. Nice, but a tad too one dimensional. Needs food I think. 130607

On tap at Villa Marina. It pours a big white, creamy head over an unclear golden body. Nice lacings. The aroma is very fruity, with the lemongrass playing the lead role. Citrus too, not much maltyness, and not as much yeast impact as usual. Quite bitter flavor, with lots of fruityness and lemongrass. Full body, dry and well carbonated. Lasting finish with a fine bitterness. Not my favorite saison from Little-CB, but it’s a very quenching beer, well fit for the summer time. 130601

On tap @ Villa Marina, Kristiansand. Hazy orange body with a moderate sized off-white head. Mild but refreshing aroma of light malt, citrus fruit, lemongrass and some Belgium yeast. Flavor is really refreshing, light malt, a faint hint of caramel, citrus fruit, lemongrass, pepper and balanced bitterness. Medium body and a fine aftertaste with more obvious bitterness. The bitterness also has some elements from flavors like bitter lemmon and/or lemongrass bitterness. Super refreshing and balanced.

On tap @ the brewpub. Hazy orange body with a fine off-white head. Rather mild but very nice aroma of fruity hops, some pine, hint of pale malt, Saison yeast and pepper. Flavor is smooth, light malty, fruity, spicy yeast and balanced bitterness. Fine body with a nice aftertaste. Quite typical modern Saison, refreshing and high quafability. A bit high in alcohol for a Saison, I think it was 8%, but the alcohol is well hidden.

On tap at the brewpub. It’s a hazy one, orange-golden beer, topped by a finger-thick off-white head. The aroma is very fruity, with the typical French saison yeast scent. Pine cones, citrus peel, orange hints, not much impact from the malts. The flavor has a tiny touch of malty sweetness, but is mostly fruity and lightly yeasty. Full body, dry and pleasantly carbonated. A nice bitterness kicks in towards the end. Yet another nice saison from Christianssand Brygghus. 130504
