Can to thistle.
Appearance: dark brown in the pour and dark brown in the glass. Three finger off white foamy head took it's time to slide off then leave some subtle lace
Aroma: strong caramel/toffee malts up front, fair amount of earthy tones; the herbal and floral quality is there and some noticeable "booziness"
Flavor: wraps up the prior noted aromas and leaving out the "boozy" quality to a fairly sweet tone; finishes caramel/toffee and semi-boozy
Texture: medium bodied, trying to be a sipper, I think....hmmmmm, fairly smooth along the tongue but once again the booziness is noticeable
Overall: some things need to be re-worked such as for a true style of this we need that "peaty to smoky" aroma and flavoring then that "booziness" needs to be tamed, the ABV doesn't need to be changed, just the fact that maybe if the peaty character was added and possibly something in the malt bill added, it could be more balanced and that ABV wouldn't be so noticeable, just my two cents.

Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: pours dark brown and leaves more of a black color in the glass with a three finger khaki foamy head which slid off at a nice pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: think Lock 9 porter with more coffee and now some vanilla bean sweetness
Flavor: pretty much the same as Lock 9 porter except once again, more coffee and more vanilla bean; finishes towards the vanilla beans and roasty coffee notes
Texture: just a wee bit smoother than Lock 9 porter and still sessionable and between light to medium bodied
Overall: so they took Lock 9 and made it somewhat into a dessert porter? That's about how I understand this. Yeah, I'd come back to.

On tap at McGeary's Irish Pub, Albany, NY.
Appearance: dark orange to amber color with a bar pour's kind of thin white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: caramel/toffee malts with a light earthy to grassy hop quality
Flavor: blends all the prior noted aromas together semi-sweet with a sturdy malt character; finishes malty and a touch of the grassy hops
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; fairly smooth along the tongue
Overall: pretty good amber/red ale and would be worthy to return to and the second I had went well with the cheese steak sandwich I had that day.

Appearance: dark brown close to black in color; with a very nice level finger's worth of khaki foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace.
Aroma: big roasted malts, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, some cream and roasted coffee tones
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together very nicely to a fine sweet and roasty tone; mild finish of the roasted coffee notes and dark chocolate
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; fairly smooth along the tongue with a light roasty brush to the tongue
Overall: nicely done English porter I'd return to.

Can to mug.
Appearance: super dark brown color with an eggshell white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some nice lace
Aroma: big earthy, floral to piney hops coating the roasted malty nuttiness, caramel & toffee malts blend in nicely
Flavor: mirrors the aromas bittersweetly and roasty, sly aftertaste of earthy & piney hoppy tones with roast
Texture: medium bodied, some sessionability, fairly smooth along my tongue, finishes crisp & earthy
Overall: anyone out there remember Dogfish Head's India Brown Ale? I do and this beer slightly is reminiscent of that - an American Brown ale - definitely hoppy and hoppier than it's English counterpart.

Can from Oliver's Beverage Center, Albany. Deeply hazy golden yellow, tons of sparkle, massive frothy head with excellent retention (kind of annoying, actually) and soapy lacing. Aroma is strong citrus, grapefruit, resinous pine with background multigrain cracker. Taste follows aroma. Smooth texture, soft carbonation, bitter, resinous pine finish. Wolf Hollow's first NEIPA?! Gee, couldn't tell! A NEIPA in look only--this is a Wolf in Sheep's clothing. Strong aroma and flavor and a decent West Coast IPA but a disappointment if you're looking for juice.

This brown ale poured a deep amber/brown colour with a creamy, off white head. Nice lacing. Scents include malt, a little ripe fruit and must. First swig was pretty good. Flavours of light smoke, toast and malt most prominent. Finish is lightly bitter with delicious malty, toast flavours lingering.

Draft at Tipsy Moose Albany. Clear purple color pink head. Aroma of berry pie. Taste is sweet sweet berry with a lightly tart fruity finish. Lactose I'm guessing but that's just a guess, not fact
