Draught at the brewpub. Black as night, small beige head. Concentrated aroma of chocolate and coffee. Dryish and light bodied with soft mouthfeel. Very roasty and silky with lots of dark chocolate. Low bitterness. Despite it’s light body it’s packed with flavour. Who’d have thought that a world class schwarzbier could come out of an isolated village in rural Africa?

Draught at the brewpub. Clear golden, average head. Light grassy aroma. Medium sweet with some bready malt and spritzy mouthfeel. Drier finish with some salty bitterness. Needs beefier malt profile to qualify as a great helles, and on the whole it feels like a good beer dressed down to appeal to the masses.
