Super clear light brown coloured body with a copper glow towards the bottom, but a nice, three to four centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat nicely and leaves a thin lace on the sides. Aroma of light grain, some oatmeal, a bit of earth and nuts, a lot of cereal and toffee with some slight prune and plum notes towards the end, fairly complex - especially for a typical beer from this country. Medium-bodied; Fairly strong malt notes dominate with a lot of breadiness, some yeast and a good deal of nuts that show pecans and peanuts and while on the mild side, are very strong flavoured compared to the rest of this one with some yeast and light fruits at the end. Aftertaste is fairly straight-forward with a light nutty and grainy profile that brings out a bit more sweetness and richness from the breads with a light prune and raisins finish, but fairly mild throughout. Overall, a pretty nice and rich beer that has a good profile and brings out the rich malts, nuts and earthiness with a light rustic quality, but pretty easy-drinking and still flavourful. Nice to try and while the packaging was the best part of this one, it was great to try on my last day here in the country! I sampled this 750 cL bottle purchased from Jumbo [supermarket] in central Santiago, Chile, purchased on 11-August-2022 with a 'best by date' of 13-April-2023, sampled in my hotel room here in Las Condes, Santiago, Chile on 14-August-2022.

Has a musky coffee scent with a faint note of sourness that sticks around on the tongue. Stress the word faint, however - this isn’t a wonderful beer, just decent. Had on tap outside the Jumbo Bilbao in Santiago.

Bottled (as Mesta Amber Ale), thanks davidpl! Lightly hazy amber, rich lively head. Vague lemony nose with some canned pineapple. Medium bodied and fairly sweet, heavily carbonated with simple clean crystal malt character. There’s soap and sulphur with lemon and pine underneath.

Dark brown and muddy. Smells like hot crossed bun - icing sugar, sweet dough and burnt raisins. Quite thin. Kind of crackerlike signature with late tartness.
