Draught. Hazy amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is grains, some sweet malts, hay and some diacetylic tones. Flavour is toasted sweet malts, some grains, mild grass, herbs and some hayish tones.

Flasa od Cikla. Vona silna leziakovo karamelova. Medova farba. Chut mierne horkasta jemne drsna leziakova karamelova. Vcelku dlho ostava.

Das letzt Bier, das ich mir vor Ort kaufte und meiner Meinung auch das beste. Es ist ein klassisches tschechisches, helles WIrtshausbier mit ordentlich brotig-getreidigen Aromen. Diese bringt es sogar aus der Flasche rüber und von Fass ist es wahrscheinlich noch süffiger. Es liedert nicht die besonderen Aromen, aber ist ein solides Trinkbier, von dem man schnell zuviel erwischt.

nicht direkt im Lokal getrunken, aber im angeschlossenen Bier-Museumsshop in der Flasche zu dem für Tschechien horrenden Preis von ca 4€/0,5l gekauft...aber ok, die alten Gemäuer der mittelalterlichen Stadt müssen erhalten werden. Geschmacklich ist es eher im Mittelfeld. So ist es natürlich um Welten besser als ein Industriebier, aber die Malzigkeit habe ich in anderen tschechischen Restaurant-Brauereien harmonischer gesehen. Es ist durchaus süffig und angenehm nach einer Stadtbesichtigung zu trinken, aber ohne die tolle Atmosphäre des mittelalterlichen Bräustüberls wirkt es schnell flach und allgemein.

gekauft im Biershop neben dem Brauerei-Restaurant zu einem Preis, den nur Touristen in Tschechien für Bier zahlen Geschmacklich ist es eine Art leichter Bock, der aber nicht süß oder fruchtig ist, sondern dem angegebenen Polotmavý entspricht, nur halt stärker und gehaltvoller. Nicht schlecht und im Restaurant sicher toll, aber extra kaufen für zu Hause muss man es nicht.

Big thank you to kappldav123 for sharing this beer. Nearly black with darkest red brown edges in the glass. Malty smell. Taste starts also malty, some choco and fruity sweetness. Hints of barrelwood in the background. Alcoholic warming. Really nice.

Huge thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark brown, almost no head. Alcoholic fruity aroma. Starts intense alcoholic, burning, soapy-sharp. Fruity notes as well, some lemon, some berries. Finish again soapy-sourish-alcoholic. Could definetly be more balanced. But interesting.

Lahev s patentním závěrem (Dííík! ): Clear, ruby-amber coloured, medium-sized and slowly collapsing creamy tanned head; robust bitter-sweet nose of toasted malt with traces of dried fruits and a good dash of herbal hops; pretty solid sweet and bitter flavour, creamy to oily MF, surely full bodied; lingering soft sweet-bitter finish performing dark malt, caramel, toasted malt, herbal hops and distinctive vinous traces, some mild alcohol-burn in the aftertaste. Klobouk dolů! Vyníkající pivo, well balanced, moreish, ale to musí být Doppelbock...

Bottle at a tasting. Smoked cola in aroma, however weird that may sound. In flavour ot gets much worse, being intensely sour, mostly lactic in character, sharp and obtrusive. Only the smokiness manages to cut through a bit. Meh.
