Description
Pécsi Brewery is an independent brewery with a history of 170 years of uninterrupted operation. The factory meets the highest quality standards (IFS), uses its own karst water source, and has a stable access to regional supply of ingredients. The owners have decided in 2017 to limit the annual beer production to a maximum of 200.000 hectoliter per year. Its home, the lively city of Pécs is located on the southern slopes of the Mecsek mountains in a mild climatic almost mediterranean corner of Hungary.
While our Pécsi and Szalon lagers are among Hungary’s most popular beers, the company has successfully started to market top fermented beers such as Weissbier, Pale Ale and APA. Our brewing is pursued according to the German Beer Purity Law in order to create the purest beer possible. The commitment to environmental sustainability and the preservation of biodiversity motivated our team to launch our successful organic product series in 2019.

Bottled(500ml). -Pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, dusty corn nose. Corn, cardboard and some weak weak malts without hops. Also, of course, watery. A bit different than similar Hungarian beers, but in general same SHIT.

0.5l bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado (thanks!) Poured a pale golden colour with a small thick white head that went away at a medium pace. Malty, dusty and corny nose, some sulphur. The taste is sweet and yet sourish with distinct notes of cardboard. Some sulphur and a bite. Watery. Different than most, fuller than some but still crap. Ugh... A funny sidenote... while "nádor" means "palatine" in Hungarian, it means "tumor" in Czech. Tumor beer... now that’s a first.

Bottled(500ml). -from Match (member of CBA) supermarket in Nagykanizsa, Hungary.
Piss yellow coloured, small soapy white head that went away fast, weak cornflakes nose. Lively carbonation. Sweetened water with weak notes of cornflakes and nothing else.

0.5l bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado. A faux German cheap supermarket alcohol free beer by Pecsi. Before trying it, this definitely seemed like a candidate for 0.something but I kept in mind the fact that the Szalon n/a was actually good for what it was. This one poured a pale golden body with a small-medium sized white head. Perfumey soggy cornflakes in the nose. Sweet, honeyish taste with distinct notes of soggy cornflakes again, but, as was the Szalon, not bad at all and it beats pretty much all their supermarket beers (on account of actually having a taste and it not being awful) . A drinkable, passable n/a.
