Description
Pécsi Brewery is an independent brewery with a history of 170 years of uninterrupted operation. The factory meets the highest quality standards (IFS), uses its own karst water source, and has a stable access to regional supply of ingredients. The owners have decided in 2017 to limit the annual beer production to a maximum of 200.000 hectoliter per year. Its home, the lively city of Pécs is located on the southern slopes of the Mecsek mountains in a mild climatic almost mediterranean corner of Hungary.

While our Pécsi and Szalon lagers are among Hungary’s most popular beers, the company has successfully started to market top fermented beers such as Weissbier, Pale Ale and APA. Our brewing is pursued according to the German Beer Purity Law in order to create the purest beer possible. The commitment to environmental sustainability and the preservation of biodiversity motivated our team to launch our successful organic product series in 2019.

can. Clear pale to golden yellow with lots of foam which spread all over my table after opening the can too eagerly. Malty and grainy. Medium-bodied with a touch of hops and a touch of metal. An average pale lager.

Canned(500ml). -I don’t understand why Pecsi brews more than 10 contract beers.
Pale yellow coloured, small chemical white head, dusty cereals nose. No aroma except some light rotten corn and stale water.
Unique and remarkable product.

Canned. Pale golden, small head,. Aroma of ripe apples and glue. Light bodied with clean mouthfeel. No bitterness. An industrial swill lager with miserable aroma and void flavour.

Canned. Pale golden, brief head. Dusty aroma of rotting vegetables. Sweet with clean mouthfeel, notes of glue. No bitterness. What a miserable product. I fully understand that the brewer doesn’t want to have their name on the can.

Bottled. Very pale yellow, no head. Vague metallic nose. Sharp and very thin. Soapy with some rotting vegetables, chemical finish. Aggresively disgusting. 1/1/1/1/3=0.7 Re-rate: The rotting vegetables and the chemicals are gone. Not sure what remains though.

Canned. Very pale yellow, lemonady head. Aroma of lemkn flavoured budget washing up liquid. Cloyingly sweet, hightly artificial. No bitterness. As a lemonade it’s not good, but if you really put your mind to it it is possible to force down a full can.
