Description
Põhjala Brewery is the brainchild of three friends and beer aficionados who, like many a future craft brewer, got tired of the tasteless watery lagers that the faceless megacorporations have saturated the beer market with.

We brew small batches of hand crafted ales, using the best malts, loads of mostly New World hops and a relentless passion for good beer. When creating our beers, we are inspired by Nordic nature, Estonian new cuisine and the work of our fellow microbrewers in the U.S., UK and Scandinavia who, in our opinion, are leading the craft beer revolution.

In hops we trust!

Draught @ Gallows Bird, Espoo Pours dark orange with a smooth headö. Aroma of sweet fruits, syrup, caramely malts and berries. Taste is heavy, bitter and caramely with berries and sweet syrup. Finish is lingering bitter, sweet and syrupy with notes of caramel and berries. Quite heavy, almost feels like a barley wine. 7-4-7-3-14 Re-rated on 11.6.2016. Feels like a completely different beer. Draught @ Gallows Bird, Espoo Pours orange with a smooth head. Aroma of grassy hops, fruits, yeast and wheaty notes. Taste is hoppy, fruity and yeasty with some notes of wheat and grass. Finish is smooth, fruity and hoppy with some piney grass and wheaty notes. Pretty good hoppy wheat ale, but missing that extra fruity kick to make this excellent.

RBESG pt 18. Moncada. Grand Tasting. Thanks to the generous young man behind the bar at Moncada. Hazy pale gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is mildly dry and light. Big skunky hops, little spice, light citrus. Light floral dry finish with a mild bitter linger. Good stuff.
