At Kulový Blesk... though the IPA wasn't that great, seeing that this was freshly tapped had my hopes up! I really felt like a good lager would hit the spot. The hazy golden body with a white head looked nice enough... and then my hopes were dashed by butter. Diacetyl all over the aroma, drowning everything else. Ugh. Smooth, silky taste, sure, but of butter, light maltiness and dry cardboard. Hope I get to try this in good shape and form, but neither of the two Lobeč beers I'd had yesterday were any good.

Tap at Kulový Blesk. Clear coppery-orange body, off white head... the kind of body where you can immediately how where the Czech-brewed IPA is gonna taste and smell... but hmm... a dry herbal aroma. Not quite the malt bomb it looks like... but yup, there it is immediately as you taste it. Dry malt-driven taste, caramel, rosehip, some flowery touches. Not a terrible beverage but still very much fails as an IPA sadly. Looking at QD's review, sometimes they do get it right. This wasn't one of those cases.

Bottle, as good as impossible to open - I damaged two corkscrews, chipped the top of the bottleneck and pruned the cork before the 25-minute-long proces of removing it from the bottle was over - so f*** you very much, dear brewer, for making my life easy and my experience memorable. When it finally arrives, the mixture is cloudy amber with a stable off-white head. It has a dry aroma of citrus, with sweetish notes of malt and yeast and hints of caramel. And it tastes just like that, too, with its semi-Belgian, vinous and dusty flavour with sweetish notes of yeast and malt and hints of caramel. Mild, acidic aftertaste - ends with a whimper, not a bang. Nearly no carbonation, which is a shame, for a flat dusty sour is worse than a carbonated one. Well, so what profound secrets did your majestic cork guard, do or die, dear brewer? Nice try, Lobeč, but better luck next time.

Tap at Zlý Časy. Hazy golden, white head. Belgian aroma, definitely, estery, with honey notes, light glue, mild chewed up bubblegum, some sweet malty touches. Medium clean malty body, vague tart touched, subdued clove esters, light apple esters, light pear esters. Almost Belgian. Very much almost, but almost is better than most.
