Cask at the Volunteer - Bristol. Pours clear, bright gold with a tight, creamy white head. Faint apple notes in the nose, citrus peel, pale grains. Light sweet flavour with more grain husk, crunchy draw, lemon peel. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Aggressive bitterness in the finish - grass, rind. Slightly astringent. So so overall.

The taste is crisp, day, bitter, pithy, zesty, biscuit, peppery spice, soapy, pine needles and earth with a drying finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Fair enough.
