Former breweries of Vena, Pikra and Yarpivo merged to Baltika in 2006.

Temporarily nationalised by the Russian government from summer 2023 until winter 2024. Carlsberg Group sold all its assets in Russia at the end of 2024. Current owner is VG Invest LLC.

500ml bottle from Lituanica, Birmingham. Pours clear gold, white head. Aroma of rice, pale malt, cereal. Flavour profile is quite ricey. some straw with cereal malt, coming across a little thin bodied. Fine overall.

450ml bottle. Pours cloudy gold with a small white head. Aroma is perfumy apricot, wheat, faint coriander. Taste is light sweet, fruity, wheat. Light bitter finish. I'd guess that this is an exact replica of the until recently Russia-brewed Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc.

450ml bottle. Pours clear gold with a medium-sized white head. Aroma is grassy, skunky, pale malt. Taste is medium sweet, grassy, skunky. Light to medium bitter finish. Medium bodied. Exactly the same as Russian-brewed Tuborg before all of Carlsberg’s operations were ‘temporarily nationalised’ by the government.

Hell goldene, klare Farbe. Schaumentwicklung nicht so toll. Malz und gekochte Früchte in der Nase. Das bekommt man (leicht abgemildert) auch geschmacklich. Eine leicht säuerliche Zitrusnote spielt noch mit rein. Hopfung mild. Weich. Habe ich in einem kleinen Mix Markt gekauft. Die Supermarktkette hat sich auf Produkte aus Osteuropa spezialisiert. Obwohl der Laden nicht groß war, wurde hier eine erstaunliche Auswahl an „exotischen“ Bieren geboten. Und preislich (für Importware) auch OK.

Overly sweet malt flavor. Heavy carbonation, the specific carbonation and overall mouthfeel is reminiscent of a corn syrup soft drink, very artificial.
