A loud pop when I popped the cap, which has a curious plastic cylinder thingy attached to it. Hazy copper coloured with plenty of sediment floating around.
The smell is big on toasted malt with side notes of Belgian yeast and some conglomerate of spices.
The taste is spicy, again, not easy to distinguish which, with toasted malt, Belgian yeast...maybe that spice is or at least reminds me of rye. No mention of rye in the beer’s description but that won’t stop me from mentioning it. This also has a dankness and earthiness to it. And the finish? I get light fruity tones that make it on the dry side.
Okay, this beer really has me befuddled; I’m now getting hints of horse blanket as it warms up and you probably know what that would suggest. Overall, I’d say smell wins over taste.

On tap at the King Arthur pub in Rome-Italy. Pours a great hazy amber/copper colour, off white head which leaves lacing and drafts. Nose: dry fruit, hint of caramel, fresh candy sugar. Mouth: medium carbonation, round sweetness, molasses. Very balanced and refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2009 vintage bottle at King Arthur pub in Rome-ITALY, courtesy of Gianluca (publican). Huge thanks Gianluca. Pours a clean pale golden color, very close to a yellow chardonnay like appearance. No real foam, just some white bubbles at the verge of the glass. Nose: wooden barrel, apple skin. Mouth: acetic, apple feel, pleasantly flat body but balanced. Excellent. 750 ml. bottle sampled @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2014. 2014 Vintage. Golden, little white head. Nose carries some light funk, oak, thick sweet fruity. Taste is strong candy-like component, jam-fruit, jellybeans mixed with light funk in the back. Tad thick body. Unique. Quite liked it.

750 ml. bottle sampled @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2014. Clear golden, bubbles. Oily nose, light peat, lemon, smoke, peat is clearly there but no overkill. Taste is bitter peat plastic, oily lots of malts, herbal, leaves. Strong, lightly plastic malt body. Taste is peat but not very outspoken, middle-of-the road with plenty of malt. Middling & not overly outspoken but drinks nicely.

Bottle sample @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli ’14, Bruxelles. Dorée, sur col blanc. Arôme offre de suite ce léger bouquet de fraise sans pour cela tomber dans l’artificiel comme c’est bien trop souvent le cas. Retrouve en rétro-nasal ce bouquet très belge notamment au niveau des houblons que je trouve assez noble, mais également au niveau de la levure qui reste présente. Palais garde ce profil typique de fraise, le tout étant rondement bien ficelé. Je trouve, ici aussi, un caractère belge au niveau des houblons nobles mais aussi sur la levure. Pointe douce perce en toute fin de bouche avec un malt pils et cara. Fini reste sec. Intriguant ces fraises typiques de la région de Tortona. Rouge dehors et blanc dedans.

Thanks to Kraddel. 330 ml. bottle. 2008 vintage. Pours hazy citrus golden with only some brief bubbles. Nose is absolutely awful, huge mould nose, rotting leaves, rotting fruits, rain water, spoiled yoghurt, 100 % oxidation,… Taste is similar, pure oxidation, lots & lots of mould mixed with rain water, rotting, spoiled yoghurt in huge quantities, zero fruit, more mould, light walnut oxidation in the back. Flat, completely oxidized body. This absolutely horrible & instant drainpour. I have no idea what happened here, I have had an old La Mummia & it was very good. MacMummia I have had was great as wonderful. I was looking forward to this one. Oxidation & age play a huge role here. I think that the bottle might have been badly closed even. Either way this was disgusting. Than again, someone at the table liked it so go figure.

Bottle thnx to matt. Pours clear yellowblond. No real head. Smell is harsh, rotten wood. Taste plastic, very dusty. Cardboard. Pretty bad. No real sourness

Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of smoke, peat, sausage, lots of smoke, band aid. Smoky flavour, light sour, peat. Finish peat and smoke. Quite enjoyable! (Though I agree with Tom10101 about the Lambic Peated Weizen)
