Description
An der Pforte zum Sauerland, im malerischen, immergrünen Hagener Ortsteil Dahl liegt die Vormann Brauerei. Ihre erste nachweisliche Erwähnung findet das traditionsreiche Brauhaus in einer Aufzählung des preußischen Staates zur Ermittlung von Steuergeldern, die aus dem Jahre 1718 stammt!

Eduard Vormann kam 1877 nach Dahl und übernahm den Betrieb, der innerhalb des Dorfes zweimal umzog. Seit 1882 befindet sich die Vormann Brauerei an ihrem heutigen Standort.

Hazy light brown with little white head. Aroma is green stuff, dextrose, brown sugar, nuts. Taste is some brown sugar sweetness, with lots of fruity sourness. Dry finish, woody, slightly phenolic. Not bad.

Bottle. Chestnut, low head. Farty roast aroma. Light bodied, watery Light roast, a hint strawberry, quick finish.

Clear golden with almost no head. Aroma is wheat, malt, sweet stuff. Taste is normal hop bitterness and wheat sweetness. Medium finish, medium body. Good drinkability. Ok.

Clear ruby with almost no head. Aroma is brown sugar, caramel, nuts, some forest, pine cone. Taste is a combination of fruity sourness and phenolic, woody bitterness and a little malty sweetness. Nice mouthfeel of little bubbles, medium finish, full body. Not bad.

Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is dusty, sweet malts. Taste is sweet grains, bready, dusty, slightly oxidized. Medium carbonation. Meh.

Bottle. Clear amber color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, dusty. Taste is malty, metallic, a bit rusty nails. Medium carbonation. Just ok.

Gourmet-Flasche (@Brauerei, Dahl): Almost clear, ruby-red coloured with a small pinkish head; sweetish aroma of red berries with a slight vinous tartness, "beery" aromas only detectable in the background; moderate sweet-sourish flavour, medium bodied; lingering tannic-vinous finish with some remembrances of beer in the aftertaste. Interesting and far better than expected. As brewed by Monsieur Petrus himself...

33cl bottle. Pours clear orange reddish colour with a mid-sized most good lasting purple head. Aroma of red fruits, berries, grapes. Taste of sweet fruits, red berries, grapes, sweet malt in the background, interesting.

Many thanks for this beer to Erzengel. Pours a hazy golden with white head. Aroma and taste is some wine, yeast, wheat, sweetish notes and not much else.
