(bottle) The dark Hefeweizen and the new pale Weizen carry the same labels and are only distinguishable from the dark or pale-coloured crown cap. Cloudy, light-orange colour with a big foamy white head. Yeasty, sweet and distinctively grainy aroma with citrus and banana and light to moderate wheaty accents. Sweet and slightly sour flavour, watery palate with a medium carbonation. Soft grainy, moderately wheaty and fruity taste, leading into a slim fruity and wheaty finish. No alternative to the Bavarian ones (25.08.08).

(bottle) Clear, dark ruby colour with a thick beige foamy head, leaving lace-work. Molassy sweet malty nose with light notes of caramel and a shy whiff of grassy and herbal hops. Sweet flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slim and slightly syrupy malty base; sweet malty finish with flavours of molasses and traces of herbal hops, giving a little balance. Not bad for that sort of “beer” (25.08.08).

(33cl bottle) Clear, ruby amber colour with a small off-white foamy layer. Sweet and fairly artificial citrus- and lemon-fruity nose with a very shy malt-character, not to speak of any hops. Sweet flavour, light bodied with a crispy mf. Initially lemon-fruity taste with a faint malt-character shining through; sweet and slightly bitter-tart lemonade-like and slightly sticky finish (25.08.08).
