Hazy chestnut brown, no head. Fig, date fruitiness on the nose with a touch of brown sugar. Sweet, touch of tartness, more brown sugar, fairly straightforward. Worthy experiment but does not really hit any high notes.

Tap at Jeffrey. Odd cloudy pot. Nose of spice and dried fruits. Tastes of candied orange peel, lots of chirstmas spices, nutty, fruitcake, raisins, and cough drops. That’s an odd one

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours hazy yellow gold with a white head. Aroma is banana, slight funk, and spice. I couldn’t really make out any clear ginger notes. Taste is sweet and just a tad soapy. It wasn’t really sour at all like I was expecting. Sort of reminded me of an American wheat without the hops.

Trübes dunkelgoldenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr hefig bananig, leicht würzig. Geschmack nach geschälter Banane, hefig, würzig.

500ml bottle. Clear, dark copper colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, off-white head. Malty and slightly sourish fruity aroma, cautious hints of morello cherries, red berries, some red apple. Taste is dry, minimally roasty malty with mild sourish touch, subtle sweetness, fruity hints of apple must. Light, not overly complex, lacks intensity in all of its otherwise nice and well matching flavours.

Draught. Hazy hay yellow liquid with medium white head. Aroma of grain, lemon, orange, earthy wheat and light acetic acid. Taste is dry and light to medium sour with notes of lemon, apples and wheat. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Quite nice.

500ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey, dark golden to amber colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Sweet-and-sour wheaty aroma, hints of fruit ester, notes of confected apple, apple purée, Williams Christ pear. Taste is minimally tart, moderately sweet, wheaty, fruity notes of yellow apple and pear, a minimally dry herbal touch; dry, minimally tart finish, relatively soft, micropore carbonation. The extra ingredients account for a very cautious, but obviously well matching complementing; no soapy touch from the ginger adds a Brownie point.
