355 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. I felt compelled to sample this beer - Brazil is such a big country, and I was kind of shameful for not having sampled any of their beers previously ... ABV is 4.5%. Very pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Sweetish, sugary and grainy aroma, hints of maize - but not awful. Bland and "dusty" flavour, fairly dry and thus kind of refreshing when ice cold, but the bitterness is very low, and there are hardly any flavour elements worth mentioning. Utterly forgettable. For the sake of Brazilian beer entusiasts, if they exist: I do hope you have access to better beers than this!

bottle@home: very sweet slightly roasted malts dominate, milk chocolate, with a hint of coffee & liquorice, wood no bitterness, nice, at the bottom of my glass I found tiny residues floating that resembled pieces of shag tobacco

Re-rate 2/6/13: Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks kerenmk. Dark brown. Caramel, toastiness, sweet, sugary. Light-medium-bodied. Too sweet. 5/3/4/3/9=2.4

Bottle at a tasting. Thanks Oren. Dark brown with a small beige head. Weird fruity aroma, a bit weak, with a bit of roasty hints. Very sweet flavor with fruits, a bit of nuts, carob and brown sugar. Light to medium-bodied. Too sweet and feels a bit old. 4/3/4/2/7=2

This is an exceptionally unique beer. Black in colour with a thin dark cream head that leaves a nice residue on the glass. Aroma is sweet with star anise and treacle. What really impressed me about this beer is the palete. It is really smooth and seems to melt on the tongue. Flavour is malty and sweet with anaseed spices.

Key Foods Supermarket, Brooklyn bottle ($2): Pours a near black color with a thin brownish head. So the look is all fine. Aroma is hard to get from the nose at least at first, but as it warms up there is a modest roasted malt element. At the first taste, this beer feels too much like a soda, Dr. Pepper to be precise... carbonation taste and everything. Again as it warms up the beer flavors actually start to be represented. Where you get the fruits, molasses and roasted malts. Syrupy-like texture.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a medium, brown head. Dark, malty aroma with some spice and fruits. Sweet flavor with dark fruits and good roast. Medium in body with average carbonation. Finishes with some nice roastiness along with strong malty sweetness. Not bad.

12 oz bottle into my all-purpose Sam Adams glass. Nose is black coffee, bread, licorice. Pours black with a reddish tint when held up to the light; nice head recedes, leaving a blanket of foam and creamy decorative lace. Taste is malty sweet with no bitterness. Taste is like chocolate and fresh baked bread. Carbonation is soft, body is medium, and mouthfeel is creamy. A nice schwarz.
