About
The Establishment Brewing Company is a brewery and taproom located in Calgary’s Manchester Brewing District - an area perfect for brewery-hopping and was recently named Canadian Brewery of the Year for 2021 at the Canadian Brewing Awards and Alberta Brewery of the Year for 2021 at the Alberta Beer Awards. We are a band of friends and beer fanatics, united by one common goal: the proliferation of friendship through sharing stories and music over a beer. The taproom has a warm welcoming vibe with good tunes, house plants and beer snacks, surrounded by barrels that hold a variety of wild and sour beer creations that can take anywhere from three months to three years to mature. We brew flavourful and highly drinkable beers, from barrel-aged sours to hop-forward ales, European lagers, and everything in between.

473ml can. Pours a cloudy pale gold with yeast particles that sink to the bottom and a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves thick, soapy curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready wheat malt, peach, mango, orange, grapefruit, earthy yeast and piney hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready wheat malt, pineapple, peach, mango, papaya, guava, grapefruit, earthy yeast, oats and piney hops in a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with a smooth, soft, oily texture and average carbonation. Juicy and delicious.

Pale greyish sort of opaque, medium head. Stinging sort of harshness. Green hops and alcohol…reminds me of a young Boombox…so I might prefer this in a week or two. Not bad but just a bit green.

On tap at Establishment. The cherry shows well in the deep red colour. No head. Off-dry, lots of apple skins, light cherries, some barrel. Not bad…wouldn’t mind more complexity though, as the three mail elements are about all there is.

Pale gold, slight haze, pretty thick head. Kind of a pedio aroma lol, malty, not much hop character at all. Doughy. Not to style and not that interesting.

Dark brown, with a thick head. Aroma is rich, chocolate, toast. Medium body, the malt complexity seems perhaps more muted on the palate than the nose. So it’s not bad… good body, maybe not as sweet as I’d like but that’s also because I have a sweet tooth. The beer for what it is, it’s solid beer.

Has that rich colour you get in mango beers but of course this is apricot and passionfruit, both of which can have a similarly rich colour. Not much head. Big passionfruit, moderate tartness, lots of rich fruit and the apricot sneaks in there a bit…not as rich as the richest kuru kayısı but not bad. Solid.

Purple and opaque. Thin head. Lots of blackberry on the nose again. Jammy for sure, big fruit, again the vanilla is nuanced. Comparable to imperial love buzz from strathcona and right around that same level.

Purple and opaque w/o much head. Fruity, lots of blackberry up front. Same on palate. Mild tartness, big fruit, soft vanilla…balanced and unobtrusive. Solid example.

Mine was listed at 7.3%, but either/or. Opaque pale egg yolk sort of colour. Nose is big ol weed, pomelo and maybe gooseberry. Just a touch of allium, kept under control…this time! Just there malts, stacks of hops coming at me in waves. Ok this is good shit.
