About
We started a Brewery as a means to contribute to a truly artisan craft. We believe in friendship before finance and are happy to help others in this industry as we have been helped by those who came before us. We are bold believers in the fact that a well made beer can cool your spirit and warm your soul.
Our flagship Mason Ale Works production brewery opened in 2017 at our San Marcos Urge Common House Location. Here JJ “Sweet Meat” Jimenez, our Director of Brewing Operations, helms the wheel. All of our can releases like our popular Jambi West Coast IPA and Respeto Mexican Lager are brewed and canned in these four walls. We also crank out an extensive line-up of one-off releases out of here.

16 oz. can, pours a clear bright amber with a large off-white head. Aroma brings out plenty of coconut and vanilla upfront; the fruit is very subdued. Flavour reveals cherry, pineapple and coconut in pretty nice cohesion, with maybe a hint of vanilla. The sweetness is relatively low and the carbonation is relatively high. Not at all stout like, more like a miscellaneous, thin-bodied strong ale with fruit and coconut. Fun stuff I guess but not exactly a masterpiece.

Poured from 473mL can. Hazy copper with small white head. Coconut, vanilla, maraschino cherry, pineapple, all the adjuncts come across. Pineapple upside down cake, hint of pears. Gimmicky and enjoyable.

16 oz. can, pours black with a medium brown head. Aroma is full of lactose, chocolate, vanilla and a hint of roast. Flavour is pretty metallic, with lots of dry cocoa, iron, and sludgy roast. Metallic and iron-like. There's something going wrong here—like iron and other metallic notes seeped in. Not good.

1 pint can. Pours a very dark brown with bubbly tan head that dissipates quickly like cola. Aromas of chocolate syrup, vanilla, dark sugar, coconut, and slick roasted malts. Flavors of chocolate nougat, vanilla, very sweet coffee, and oily roasted malts. Sweet, sugary finish with only a bit of heat.

Dark brown colour, near black. Medium body, it's sweet, but not as thick as announced; strong vanilla and chocolate vibes, not getting any piecrust/cookie flavour, some coffee in the aroma, but the flavour is quite simplistic.
Good, but overpriced.

16oz on Alex's porch. About 1 year old can. Appearance: cloudy straw with a white head. Aroma: candied tropical fruits, like oranges and mango. Taste: along the same lines, lots of candied fruits. Overall: this one is like a liquid candy, haha, turned out to be good even being old.
