On tap at Harland - Scripps Ranch, pours a filthy dark brown/black, no head—looks sketch. Aroma is full of vanilla ice cream, macadamia syrup, some chocolate, and bourbon. Flavour is extremely sweet, pretty much cloying, with intense sugars, vanilla ice cream, macadamia syrup, and light bourbon. Too sweet, lacking complexity, but it does have some elements. Fun diabetes bomb that I can’t stomach in more than 2 oz.

On tap at Harland - Scripps Ranch, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma has deep roasted malt, a touch of earthy coffee, and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is robust, with deep roasted malt, coffee, and dark cocoa. Deep roast, light sugars, nice coffee overtones. Excellent.

Flavour has a decent tropical character, melon, some piney bitterness, maybe some allium. I like my WCs more bitter and biting but this is still done well.

On tap at Harland - Scripps Ranch, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of bright spruce tips upfront, gentle hop tang, grass, and dry biscuity malt. Flavour has a pungent spruce tip character, which combines nicely with the woody piney hops, and a touch of hop tang. The spruce kind of obscures the usual NZ hop tanginess, but the beer is clean and structurally great. Very good.

Flavour is bright, with big tangy Nelson hops, ample piney bitterness, melon, and a crisp biscuity malt base. Wonderful Nelson brightness, good structure. Excellent.

On tap at Modern Times - Encinitas, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma has plenty of tangy hops, melon, bitter pine, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is bright, with bright, piney, tangy hops, and some grapefruit. Wonderfully balanced, vibrant hop expression. Lovely.

Taster flight at Bert's. Clear golden pour, moderate head Rich hoppy aroma, dank notes. Taste comes in hoppy, oily feel, more dank flavors. Probably the dankest lager I've had.
