Belgian blonde commissioned by a watercress farm; apparently watercress seed is added during the boil, so this beer could be viewed as a spice ale. From a stubby bottle with green label that says "brewed to impress". I expected gushing but there is none, so things start off fine. Delicately cobweb-lacing, moussy, cream white head consisting of minute bubbles, very pretty; colour is a deep and pure yellowish golden blonde, clear with a suspension of yeast throughout the liquid but expectedly cloudy with deposit. Aroma rich in acetaldehyde, with notes of green apple, chamomille, freshly cut nettles, gooseberries, woodsorrel, but also a certain touch of freshly ground pepper which surely represents the watercress, green plum, straw, baker’s yeast, rainwater and a subtle honeyish, orange candy or even shortbread sweetness upon adding the yeast deposit. Crisp onset, fruity in a sweet and sourish way (starfruit, gooseberries, unripe pineapple, Conférence pear), smooth and supple mouthfeel with spritzy carbo, orange accent, lean pale malt body, bit grainy, slightly bready, with spicy yeastiness increasing towards the finish, where a lightly powdery effect comes off as a result; also hoppier than expected, with a fair amount of grassy, earthy bitterness in the tail, as well as a very subtle peppery touch - but too subtle to determine if it comes from the hops, or from the watercress seeds. A light honeyish sweetishness also comes through in the end. Watercress is there, but blends in so subtly that it becomes difficult to pull it out. Regardless, this is a tasty, crisp, refreshing new blonde, I quite liked it, it has no big off-flavours and has a very balanced profile.

Bottle from Anders! bierfestival Pours rather clear blonde . Good to small white head fades rather fast . Smell is fresh , some herbs ( ’ watercress ? ’ ) Taste is nice and in balance. bit sweet, herbs , bit bitter/metallic ( way better than it sounds ! ) of the watercress . Very nice in balance, intense enough to enjoy its aspects, hidden enough to leave you a bit guessing . In the aftertaste, you get the herbal-ish taste . the watercress is very subtle over the whole line, but it works very well . If you taste it blind , I dont think it would be this different . Yet it IS better than the average blonde beer that tastes almost alike this ... I like it ! A hint to much carbo

33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Kermis. Thick creamy white head. Cloudy golden blond pour. I don’t get the watercress but still a pleasant hoppy beer.
