First a sampler than a full pour in a large ass footed pilsner glass. It is a completely full thick golden color, cannot see through it. Has a firm thick head on top. As the head fades a thick insulation-like foam sticks around and covers the surface. A pretty damn attractive beer. Aroma is a very thick lacto/milky-like maltiness and not just the standard white bread maltiness; thick, strong, original, and interesting. The flavor is similar but it is balanced by some zing from the hops. Has a long sweet, non-sugary aftertaste with a hint of non-citric lemon. It is very easy drinking despite having a thick, full body. It is a "big" pils without being the Americanized version of "big." I would go out of my way to drink this again.

10th rater, lets make this beer official. Sampler @ the brewpub, a full pour would be hard to take. The color is a hazy yellow/golden color with some random carbonation bubbles visible. Aroma is sweet vanilla from the combination of alcohol and malts. There is a light herbal and grassy aspect to it from the few hops peaking past the malts. There is a light earthy and musty heft to it. The flavor has more alcohol coming out, its a bit of a peachy-like alcohol. There is a bit of a weak feel and flavor and that is topped off by a hefty alcoholic and white bread maltiness. In general there is a bit of a rumble tumble feel to the beer, not well balanced despite tasting good. Just needs some more lagering to even out the alcoholic edges. But I would have this again as blond doppelbocks are few and far between.

Right Bob, I am with you on this one. This is an exceptional beer, and it is arare yellow lager, whether it be a Bohemian pils or German or any other variant, that really satisfies and is actually a beer you want to drink more of. This is a beer I would drink on a regular basis if available closer to home. Very well carbonated. The aroma has full with malt, bread, yeast, and grain. Flavor has more fresh bread, and lots of yeast. Fairly well hopped, with a little citrus, but just a touch. Saaz hops I would bet, with a central European influence. Long, bitter finish with hops and malt. I am not sure it is better than their Pilsner, but it is a great beer.

Thanks to Skyview for another growler from this awesome German-style brewery. Good malt aroma. Some salt in the flavor, more malt, crackers and bread. Medium palate and light red color. A success. Thanks Bob.

A very good doppelbock. It is loaded with malt, with lots of roasted flavor. Black, and low carbonation. Exceptionally smooth and thick on the palate, I can’t remember when I had a bock with such a great palate. The only thing it is missing is sweetness and caramel. Very dry for a bock, but an expertly made beer anyway. Thanks to Skyview for sharing.

Another from Skyview. Like everything from Das Bierhaus, this one is good as well. I get a pleasant smoke aroma but it is fairly mild. Much more smoke in the flavor, with bacon and roasting beef. Dark red color and mild carbonation. Medium sweet malt.

Dark brown. Roasted aroma, and medium bodied rich, malt flavor with roasted grain. A little sweet. I have never tasted a dunkel with so much roasted character. Very good.

A good beer, but not as good as the dunkelweizen. Fairly clear, especially for the style. I like a cloudy, yeasty hefeweizen. Fairly light aroma with wheat, citrus, some banana. The flavor has similar qualities. More wheat, banana, citrus. The flavor is right but it is too light, and I would like this to be a little sweeter with a heavier and thicker palate. A good beer, but made me think of a kristalweizen rather than a hefeweizen.

Draught at the brewpub. A hazy brown colored beer. The aroma has caramel and roasted malt. The flavor is similar, with more caramel, roasted malt, and an unusual but good, dry finish. Great thick palate, and the beer appears to be unfiltered, which I like.

From a growler. I am disapointed in this beer and it is the weakest I have had from this brewery. A gold doppelbock. Light caramel and grass aroma Low carbonation, just a little sweet and malty. Not really hearty but seems thin and more like a strong lager than a bock.
