About
Averbode Abbey beer is a tribute to history: from the 14th to the early 20th century the abbey was already actively engaged in brewing. For the production of the ‘new’ abbey beer the abbey opted for Brouwerij Huyghe, which also has a rich history of its own.
However, there are also similarities. Respect for the environment and society play a central role in the brewery. Indeed, Brouwerij Huyghe is the only brewery in Belgium to produce the Mongoza-beer that has received the fair trade, gluten free and organic label. It also actively invests in a smaller footprint and social employment.

330mL bottle Pours a clear golden blonde with a white head. Aroma is pretty light, a bit floral. Flavour has a fruity, estery yeast character, some floral hops. Not a very convincing Belgian, maybe this has sat out at room temperature for tool long. Nothing to write home about.

330ml can via Beer52. Drank in my garden on Saturday 4th July 2026. Golden body, white crown. Easy going Belgian blonde ale, nothing to get excited about, but a pleasant start to my little afternoon of beer drinking.

Thanks omhper! Slightly hazy golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is floral, some fruity, mildly spicy and nectary tones to it. Flavour is floral, fruity, spicy and some mild nectary tones with a bit herbs to it as well.

330ml bottle from Taps Beer Bar, Changkat. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is yeasty, light herbal. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, dry, Belgian yeasty, light floral, light citrus, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average to lively carbonation.
