650ml bottle. Minimally filmy amber colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Fruity hoppy aroma has notes of mango, peach, grapefruit, some pine and resin. Taste is initially minimally sweet, bitter and fruity hoppy, mango, peach, grapefruit, orange peel, some citrus, then the sweetness and fruitiness fades, some caramel malt with a bitter almond touch comes in, the finish is solely bitter hoppy.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours a warm amber with a slight haze and a smallish off-white head. Lovely rich and thick caramel aroma with a pleasant oaky edge. Rich and sweet body, never cloying though. Totally in balance, again aided by this subtle and slightly peppery, spicy oaky edge. Warming alcohol with a bit of a bite. An excellent Barleywine! Good one Steve! 190613

Bottle, 22oz. It pours a more or less clear one, golden in color and topped by a dense, off-white head leaving some lacings.Hop driven aroma with pine cones, pineapple, citrus peel and some peppery hints. Sweetish. The flavor is a tad too sweet, with lots of fruityness, and a nice bitterness. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Biscuity, sweet and hoppy finish. Can’t really decide on this one, it’s nice, but still sort of ordinary. 130614

Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Hazy deep golden-copper with a beige head. Great citric and floral hops aroma with some piney notes. Flavor has light malt sweetness and good bitter citric and piney hoppiness. Medium-bodied.

22 oz. bottle, sent from Neillago (thanks a lot, man), pours an opaque cloudy vibrant orange amber with a medium beige head. Aroma is both very hoppy and malty, with loads of resinous hops, big caramel malt, and grapefruit. Flavour is very juicy and bitter, with loads of grapefruit, oranges, truckloads of resinous hops, and a thick caramel malt background. There are also some perfumey floral notes. Despite the big malt backbone, there is almost no sweetness here. The grapefruit and resin take centre stage and completely dominate the palate. The balance isn't the best, though the flavours are very pleasant. Not an easy drinking one, due to the heaviness from the malt, but very enjoyable.

Draft. Dark brown beer with a light brown head. Tart aroma. Tart and light dark malt flavor with whiskey. Medium bodied. Tart and dark fruit lingers with light dark malts and light whiskey. Yes.... I know its red wine barrels, but I get more whiskey.

Small tan head, fed by finely carbonated red-shot, if nearly pitch-black beer. Black, but sweetened chocolate, chocolated coffee, toffee, treacle, caramel. All of them, and then some. SMELLS viscous. Sweet with ever so slightly bitterish roasted notes. Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate icecream topping. Backthroat alcoholheat, which is difficultly explainable by the 6.5 % ABV. Warming up, vlaai, if you understand the reference. Medium bodied, quite slick, slight viscosity. Light alcoholburn. Sweet. Tad too sweet, for my preferences. Still, if you like your portion of treacle...
