On tap @ EBF 2008. Black body with a thin beige head. Aroma is roasted malt and tar. Flavor is sweet, burnt malt and bitter coffee. Quite masculine style, not exactly harmonic but rather straight forward sweet and bitter in a raw style.

(Draught@brewpub). Dark brown, almost opaque color, steady small espresso head. Aroma of smoke, wet wood and salted licorice. Medium bodied. Lots of, lots of fruity NZ hops and licorice. Dry mouthfeel with an impressive late smokey taste. Aftertaste comes with salted licorice and hoppy bitterness. Although this is not brewed with Bambergian malts, this tastes like Schlenkerla Urbock with extra hops added. Despite of being very hoppy and smokey, this "Bad Santa" is extremely drinkable.

Draught@Beer Hunters, Pori. Pitch black colour, small beige head. Aroma is smoke, licorice, mild grainyness as well as some bitterness. Flavour is smoke, roasted malts, fruits and some mild leathery notes. Bigtime licorice and caramel too as it gets warmer. A very pleasant smoked beer.

On tap at the European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. A gorgeous looking beer with a small tan head. Coffee, roasted malt and mocha notes in the aroma. Slightly burnt and tar-ish too. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate sweetness and a coffee-like bitterness lasting for a long time. Full-bodied. A really nice beer but I ended up with the impression of the beer being unbalanced in a way. (080912)

On tap at EBF 08. Black, smoke on the aroma. Cold choc. Dryish. Lovely roasted flavour. Very smoked aroma. good beer. Thanks to Duff to dragging me to this beer and then giving me the completely wrong name for it so it took me like 30 minutes to find the beer on the database.
