The brewery was founded in 1845 by Henri Schweickhardt in Saverne. In 1989, the German Karlsberg Group acquired the company.

The French subsidiary focuses on brands it supplies internationally to major wholesalers throughout Europe in innovative shipping and packaging units.

Can sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Hazy pale yellow. Clear golden. Graininess, some hops, quite stale, sweetish, bitter finish. A bit like a hoppy industrial lager.

Aroma: Malt and Dark fruits. Flavour: Malty and fruity sweet with herbal notes. Aftertaste is sweet with light bitter notes. Colour: Brown with an offwhite head. From: Bottle.

clear golden golour, medium sized dense off-white head, which lasts for a few minutes; aroma of grainy-bready, fruity, slight citrusy and moderate pine resiny notes; bittersweet taste with slight honey and spicy-celery aftertaste; not that bad

Bouteille (Merci, le professeur!): Clear, golden, small and stable white foamy layer, mild bitter-sweet grainy-fruity nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; slightly lingering sweetish-grainy and fruity (lemony) bitter finish. Not the worst IPA, but pretty tame…
