Founded in 2014 by Allan and Sarah. Scientists by training with a passion for beer. After working all over the world in science and brewing.

It was during this period that we began to think what the ethos would be of our ideal company. From that the Atom story began. Our ethos has not been just about making beer, our long-term goal is to create an educational environment to inspire students across all age groups and build a community.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Clear gold with a thin head. It certainly has a floral character that could pass for tea. Quite light in its texture but has a decent enough body to enjoy.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Deep amber with a small creamy head. Has a slight creamy-sweet nose and taste with an overriding hoppy character, however it’s all very strong tasting so nothing is that stated.

Cask @ Crown & Kettle, Manchester. Slightly hazy orange-blonde colour with a small head. Has a very light and easy drinking texture with a small floral-fruity nose and taste. There’s some orange in here but it’s light.

Bottle from Cornelius. Clear ruby body with a thick off-white head. Great lacing. Aroma of filter coffee, stewed pear and caramel. Flavour of burnt sugar and fig. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. Decent without being particularly memorable.

Gravity dispense at Craft 100, CBC Clapham, 18/09/14. Lightly hazed golden orange with a moderate off white swirl and edgeing. Nose is light citrics, bitter orange, straw, bready, light vegetal strains. Taste comprises orange, citric rind, light musty notes, bread dough. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with a bitter rinse. Mediocre GB affair.

@Indyman - Clear. Light brown. Has a strange aroma that reminds me of Japanese Mix rice snacks. Flavour is quite fruity. Has a really smooth rich texture.

@Indyman - Hazy mid brown colour. Creamy head. Fresh, fruity hop aroma. Really fresh hoppy taste. Light malts and sweetness in the background.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear, dark, reddy brown. Thin, broken, tan head, that’s leaves some lacing. Chocolate malt. Some woodiness. Some grassy hop. Taste is a little burnt toffee sweet. Some dryness, and a burnt bitterness. Decent body. Finishes dry, with more of the burnt bitterness.

Dark Matter from Atom Beers

Cask at the Euston tap. Aroma is nice earthy woodland berry, roast, touch of fruity fermentation esters and a bit of charred wood. Opaque dark brown/ black coloured pour with a lasting sticky light tan head. Flavour is woody, berry, chalky mineral and solid earthy roast barley. Palate is a little thin, moderate carbonation. Good condition. Lingering bitter roast a hint of a Belgian note.
