Pour is a dark brown with a huge tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt with some brown sugar and molasses. Flavor is chewy sweet molasses malt with a bit of dark fruit. Very heavy and filling. Finish is sugary and sweet with more caramel malts. Hides the 10.2% well. Not as complex as some barley wines but it’s going in the right direction.

Peculier Pub, NYC can ($6): Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma is chai, sugar, and some light roasted malt. Taste and aroma are a combination of clove, ginger, and cinnamon. I don’t think I really detected any anise. In honesty, it doesn’t taste entirely like a chai... it is like the tastes of that thrown into a light porter. Meh.
