Thanks to CaptainCougar for this one. People seem to compare this one with Great Lakes' Eliot Ness but it's not exactly a photo finish in my book. Pours a very clear amber color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is malty and a little nutty. Flavor did not have as much rich malt character as I would have liked, but it is easy to drink. There are enough hops in the finish to keep it interesting. I'd get this again but Mr. Ness is still Untouchable as far as I am concerned.

I was surprised to find this at Frog Bear Wild Boar, a bar/club not really known for the beer selection. Amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is almost spicy enough to make your eyes water. Ginger absolutely dominates, with a little pumpkin and malt crying for attention. This was a little hard to drink because of how robust the spicy flavor was. I would have welcomed more hops or malt to balance out the spice assault. Dry finish. An interesting attempt but not something I am going to search out again.

I have really enjoyed trying all of the deifferent holiday beers I have been finding lately. This beer pours a dark amber color with a thin light beige head. Aroma immeditattely reminded me of cinnamon-flavored dental floss. Orange smell was also present. The flavor consisted of spices, hops and honey and while slightly unbalanced it was still enjoyable with a rather dry finish.

Found at Jungle Jim''s in Fairfield. This beer proves you should never judge a book by its cover. Poured a beautiful orange-red color with a thin beige head. Very slight malt aroma. Flavor was thin and blood-in-your-mouth metallic. Hopefully I can find some other Lakefront brews because I am sure they can do better than this.

Hazy amber; vienna malts and slight pear fruitiness in the nose. Decent cara-toasty malts; smooth, but seems subdued.

Black. Very coffeeish aroma. Slightly thin body. lots of coffee, which I usually don't go for, but this is a quality roast, with none of the vegetal flavours found in some other coffee beers. Smoothly drinkable.
