Description
Blue Moon is known for its Belgian-Style Wheat Ale which was created in 1995 by Keith Villa, a brewer at the Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field, Denver. It was originally brewed in the Coors brewery in Golden, Colorado. In the summer of 2016 a new state-of-the-art brewery was opened in Denver’s RiNo District. Since then we have been brewing fan favorites (old and new), and experimenting with new and unique ingredients on our pilot brewing system.

Pours a hazy gold from a bottle. Perfumey apricot aroma is off putting, some honey as well, especially in the mouth. Ends nicely on a good wheatiness. Meh.

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a cloudy golden color with a huge foamy white head that lingered and left excellent lacing. The aroma was sweet sugar and artificial peach. The flavor was cracker, yeast, artificial sugar and artificial peach. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok

Bottle. Smells like apricots, very much like apricots. Tastes like I'm drinking apricot perfume, Weird. Some co2. Looks like a wheat beer fer sher.Perhaps its pacific because its really gimmicky. Difficult medicine. Only thing good about this beer is the smell but then that's ruined when you taste it. Not impressed. Quite uncivilized.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 4/9/2018. Pours very hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of juicy mangoes, melon, peach, pear, red apple, wheat, and biscuit; with light notes of honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of mangoes, fruity yeast, and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big juicy mangoes, melon, peach, pear, red apple, wheat, and biscuit; with light notes of honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy bitterness, fruit tang/tartness, and yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy mangoes, melon, peach, pear, red apple, wheat, biscuit, honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice robustness and balance of mangoes, fruity yeast, and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/tart/spicy balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Minimal dryness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and slightly sticky/tangy mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.4%. Overall this is a really good fruited American pale wheat ale. All around nice robustness and balance of mangoes, fruity yeast, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mildly tart/bitter finish. Very flavorful for the ABV. Great balance of mangos and biscuity malts; with a solid fruity yeast profile, and just enough bitterness to balance the sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and nice style example.
