About
Blue Moon is known for its Belgian-Style Wheat Ale which was created in 1995 by Keith Villa, a brewer at the Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field, Denver. It was originally brewed in the Coors brewery in Golden, Colorado. In the summer of 2016 a new state-of-the-art brewery was opened in Denver’s RiNo District. Since then we have been brewing fan favorites (old and new), and experimenting with new and unique ingredients on our pilot brewing system.

Twist off bottle. Pour is really dark brown. Somewhat coffee chocolate smell. Good sizzle but perhaps way to much cloying sweetness. Difficult, but now I see its 6%, well, you know it when you drink this stuff. Coffee, fer sher, sweet fer sher, whew, could not drink more than one of these. Good thing it has pretty good sizzle, would be difficult if flat. Not impressed.

12 ounce bottle. Dark brown, thin creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. The taste matches, some more creaminess from the oats, but the coffee is somewhat harsh. Thin.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of coffee, creamy chocolate. Med body or nearly. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, and cream. Or similar. It’s lightly sweet, not bitter at all. Coffee is as close as it comes to bitter. But it’s certainly a drinkable ale.

12 oz. can. Pours clear, pale gold, with a small, fleeting, grey head. The aroma is vanilla, cinnamon, caramel, and corn syrup. Very sweet flavor, with only a hint of spice. Medium body, creamy, and smooth. This is a nicely spiced, simple, and delicious beer.
