Bottle @ Avery SourFest III. Hazy, reddish violet appearance with an off white head. Pretty rich blackberry, dark berry, somewhat citrusy, pineapple, light vanilla aroma. The blackberry didn’t seem to come through in the flavor nearly as much for me with more of the vanilla, pineapple, citrus fruity, bretty characteristics more apparent. Pretty tasty beer nonetheless.

Batch #1 bottle @ Avery/Boulder SourFest 2012. Pours a hazy/cloudy, orangish yellow appearance with a white head. Aroma has an incredibly intense and delicious, fresh, bright peach in the nose. Along with all that peach goodness in the aroma are notes of other stone fruits (apricot), some brett notes, vanilla, and moderate tartness. Very rich peach/apricot, light orange citrusy, coconut, vanilla, lightly woody, fairly tart flavor. Lasting peachy, vanilla, bretty aftertaste. Very bright, fresh fruits in this one. Fairly dry. Incredibly delicious and the highlight of Avery SourFest for me. First run was pretty limited, so hopefully Chad will make another batch next year. Best from Crooked Stave so far. Fuck yeah. (10/4/9/4/17=4.4)

Blend #1 in Vail shared with jcnielsen. Pours a cloudy yellow orange appearance with little head. Peach juice, fruit cocktail, a touch buttery, vanilla aroma. Moderately tart, oaky, vanilla, apricot/peach, lemon flavor with a touch of butter. Not a ton on the aftertaste. Not bad but certainly nothing close to Batch #1. (7/3/7/4/14=3.5).

Blend #2 in Vail shared with jcnielsen. Pours a cloudy yellow orange appearance with a white head and slightly better retention than blend #1. Bright juicy, peach, mango, orange fruity, fairly sour, woody/vanilla aroma with a touch of butter but the aroma is still superior to Blend #1. Fairly sour, apricot, slightly chewy peach, lemon, funky, vanilla, lightly tannic flavor. Maybe a touch of stomach acid. Kind of hard to choose a favorite since both are a bit flawed while still being not bad. Blend #2 is a bit more sour and complex. (8/3/7/4/14=3.6).

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. On the handwritten label called: "Persica Sour Peach". Heavy peachy aroma - combined with thick Belgian fart. Medium body, lowish carbonation, again loads and loads of lovely peach flavour, some minerals. Some baking yeast. Very tart finish. Interesting. 030612

This brew pours a purplish-brown color with a medium off-white head that burns away steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of funky fruits, yeast and malt. Light-bodied with a tart berry character and notes of yeast, wheat and earthy malt. The finish is fruity with a mildly sour blackberry aftertaste. Pretty good gateway Sour overall.

Bottle thanks to Aaron! Pours a hazy pale godl with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a very earthy grass note with a nice light sour note with a bit of backing sweet grains. Flavor begins with some cheesy grass with a hint of light sourness and a bit of underlying sweetness.

Bottle thanks to Aaron! Pours a near clear orange gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of pine with a hint of backing earthy citrus and a hint of a Brett note. Flavor begins with earthy grassy and citrus note with a bit of bitter citrus towards the finish.

Medium yellow head, dark red-amber beer. Berries, wild fruit, "seathorn". Subdued fruit in the mouth; much barnyard Brett; with a dry finish and earthy notes. Dry, rather well-bodied, slick to oily. Strange combination, good result.
