Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at the Bakehouse. Pours clear pink-ruby with a few fading bubbles on top. Lightly sweet with subtle tartness, some doughy bread, sub-kissed grains, a little acetic bite, lemom. Light bodied with delicate carbonation. Lightly sweet finish, some further doughy bread, mellow tartness. Nice mix of flavours.

Bottle from the bakehouse. Roasted grain aroma with vinous hints. Murky pond water brown. No head. Medium-heavy sour - fruity and vinous. A sweet edge to this. Some underlying grainy bitterness into the finish - bready aftertaste. Light bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish. Interesting stuff. Nearly a year old so that may effect it.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at E5. Pours cloudy gold with a small, bubbly topping. Nice acidity, lemon, fermented grains, a little spicy rye. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Pleasantly tart in the finish, with some fairly assertive acidity, more lemon, background grains. This stuff is damn good.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at the kvasserie. Pours lightly hazy brownish gold with minimal head. Fairly sweet with a bit of acetic bite, some lightly toasted grains, hints of salty sweat, lemon, caramel. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Sweet bready-grainy finish, more more tartness, salty sweat, graham cracker, perhaps tangy strawberry. Really interesting kvass.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at the bakehouse. Pours lightly hazy orange with a small, fizzy white head. Smells a little bit like ginger snaps. Light sweet flavour with some true, lightly spicy rye, lemony tartness, wholegrain bread, salt. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Tart finish, more lemon, tangerine, salty bite, rounded spicy grains. Nice depth, really drinkable. Great to see someone elevating kvass.
