Description
Sinds 2000 heeft Huisbrouwerij Het Roze Varken op kleine schaal een aantal zeer bijzondere bieren gebrouwen, die door vele van onze vrienden en familieleden zeer gewaardeerd werden. Deze succesvolle bieren versterkten onze ambitie om iedereen van onze speciaalbieren te kunnen laten genieten.

In april 2013 was het moment daar: Brouwerij Het Roze Varken werd geboren.

Een machtige stap met een prachtig doel: Het brouwen van speciaalbier waarmee wij onze passie kunnen overdragen aan iedereen die zin heeft in en behoefte heeft aan ‘een bijzonder biermoment’.

In 2021 ging de brouwerij samenwerken met Kleine Beer, onder de naam Pigs & Bears Brewing Co. Per 1 januari 2022 gingen Het Roze Varken en Kleine Beer samen verder onder de naam Pigs & Bears Brewing Co.

Sample from bottle at Winterbier Festival Gouda 2014. Amber color. Aroma’s: herbs/spices, sweet (red) fruit, sweet malts. Flavor is moderate sweet, grainish. Medium bodied. Finishes lightly herbal, light bitter. Meh.

Bottle sample at PWBF. Clear amber colour, white head. Aroma of grain, bubblegum, typical amber. Flavour is caramel, light floral, grainy, sweet, typical Belgian amber. Light-bitter finish, light-bodied, boring stuff.

Tap @ Cafe Meijers. Copper colour, medium off-white head. Nose is caramel malts, light vegetables, light fruity. Flavou is malty, caramel, fruits, dark fruits. Medium carbonation. Finish is slightly dry and bitter. A bit wishy-washy.

Sampled @ PWBF Gouda 2014. Clear rusty orange color, small off-white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, grains, sweetish. Meh. Low to average body, average carbonation.

Bottle sampled at the Gouda Winterbier festival. Pours clear brown with a bubbly tan head. Aroma of caramel, raisins, toffee. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle at Dean’s Pale Lager tasting, Den Haag. Poured a hazy medium amber with no head and no lace. The aroma is cellulose thinner, car paint. The flavour is bitter sour. It’s like a mixture of solvents that you really should stay away from.

Bottle shared thanks to Deanso. Pours murky golden brown with an off white head. Aroma of perminant marker and nail polish. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, horrible awful nose aspects coming out stronger. Really bad. Nice label of a cute pig though.

75cl bottle shared @ THT November 2013 courtesy of a trade with Douberd. Thick white head. Odd nail varnish aroma. hazy golden blond pour. An odd triple Re-rated a 75cl bottle from ABCBeers, shared. Dry. Thick creamy white head. Much better than the 1st version.
