Description
Privately owned since 1809, the Ochsenfurter Kauzen-Bräu stands for traditional Franconian brewing culture. The brewery was not always called Kauzen Bräu. It was not until 1974 that the Ochsenfurt monastery brewery was renamed the Kauzen Brewery.

Bottle [from trade with bierkoning] @ home. Clear golden color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste malts, some hay bitterness, slightly metallic, soft bitter finish. Average body and carbonation. Decent pilsener.

Bottle shared thanks to Deanso. Pours hazy pale yellow golden with a medium white head. Aroma of dull lemonade. Flavour is moderate sweet. Light bodied with moderate carbonation.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a hazy straw colour with a thin whispy white head. The aroma is light acid citrus. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich zesty lemon sherbet palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle 500ml. @ [ pre TEODRBSG15 ] @ fonefan & Brugmansia House, Denmark. [ As Kauzen Käuzle Urhel ].Clear medium orange yellow color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, pale malt, dusty malt, nutty notes, moderate hoppy, grass, earthy notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, cabbage water, pale malt, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150828]
