Privately owned since 1809, the Ochsenfurter Kauzen-Bräu stands for traditional Franconian brewing culture. The brewery was not always called Kauzen Bräu. It was not until 1974 that the Ochsenfurt monastery brewery was renamed the Kauzen Brewery.

[ As Kauzen Käuzle Urhel ].Clear medium orange yellow color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, pale malt, dusty malt, nutty notes, moderate hoppy, grass, earthy notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, cabbage water, pale malt, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150828]

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond and firm medium-sized foamy head. Grainy and mildly biscuity malty aroma with a touch of caramel and flowery hops. Moderately sweet and delicately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Mildly grainy and delicately chalky taste, getting slightly papery towards the finish, mildly spicy hops tune in from the middle part. 06.IX.15
