About
Privately owned since 1809, the Ochsenfurter Kauzen-Bräu stands for traditional Franconian brewing culture. The brewery was not always called Kauzen Bräu. It was not until 1974 that the Ochsenfurt monastery brewery was renamed the Kauzen Brewery.

Bottle. Frothy White good mostly deminishing head. Yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. oily palate.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, hay and light hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. 280815

Bottle, 5.4%. Clear golden with small white head. Aroma is malt, grainy, hop and a little grass. Flavour is malt, grainy, hop, medium sweet, little grass, straw and a little bitter.

Sampled @ Danish Summer Gathering 2015 Klare goldene Farbe, geringe weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, leicht würzig, kaum hopfig. Geschmack süß malzig, getreiig, trocken und leicht hopfig im Abgang.

Sampled at 8th Danish Ratebeer Gathering, Ulfborg 2015. Bottle. Clear yellow color, small white head. Aroma is malts, sweetish grains. Taste malts, sweetish grains again, sweet, slightly dusty. Average body and carbonation. Easy drinkable, not bad imo.

Bottle:Golden, clear, lazy carbonation, small creamy off-white head; strawy to pale malty nose with a slight papery touch; mild to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, crunchy MF; sweetish-strawy finish with a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Not bad, still quite well drinkable…

Cloudy dark amber with a medium beige head. Aroma had roasted malt. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, caramel and nuts. Finished sweet.

Euro2-Flasche: Golden with a greenish sheen, bleached loose and stable white head; sweetish grainy-strawy nose with hints of pale malt; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a "juicy" MF; sweetish-bitter finish with a slight "strawy" hoppiness in the aftertaste. Nothing special, but devilishly well drinkable…

Das Bier hat eine klare goldene Farbe und eine mittelgroße weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, kaum hopfig, sehr monoton. Geschmack leicht trocken, eintönig malzig, kaum hopfig, langweilig!
