About
Privately owned since 1809, the Ochsenfurter Kauzen-Bräu stands for traditional Franconian brewing culture. The brewery was not always called Kauzen Bräu. It was not until 1974 that the Ochsenfurt monastery brewery was renamed the Kauzen Brewery.

Leicht schmutzig trübe goldene Farbe, mittgroße feinporige weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht brotig süß, hefig, sonst schwach, wässrig. Geschmack bananig süß, zitronig, leicht hefig, schwacher wässriger Körper.

Bottle:Golden, clear, big White loose head, visible carbonation; fruity-grainy nose with a touch of necrotic yeast plus a slight acidity; mild sweetish flavour, pretty light bodied, but still soft; a very faint touch of tannic hops in the thin finish. Pretty boring...

Klare goldgelbe Farbe, mittelgroße weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch schwach hopfig, etwas Malz, geringe florale Aromen. Geschmack floral hopfig, trocken, geringe getreidig malzig, süffig.

Sehr trübe goldgelbe Farbe, schöne weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch fruchtig, Obst, leicht hefig, phenolisch. Geschmack trocken fruchtig, Steinobst, hefig, gut!

Spritziger Zitronenantrunk, milde Süße. Geringe Herbe, die Fruchtigkeit wirkt natürlich, das Getränk rund. Später etwas süßer, dennoch rund. Kein Bier aber super Sommer Limo. 6/9/9/8/8/8

Bottled@fonefan. Pale yellow colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is grainy, herbal along with some earthy and bready notes. Flavour is hay, grass, cardboard and some earthiness.

Bottle 500ml. [ As Kauzen Alkoholfrei ].Clear light medium yellow color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, cereal, wheat, bread notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, cereal, sugary. Body is medium to light, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. Bottled (from BierZwerg). Golden colour, mediumsized white head, that leaves lace. Aroma is sweet malts, some alcohol, mild nutty notes as well as some mild herbs. Flavour is alcohol, some nuttiness, mild caramel as well as some slight grainy notes. Balanced, but nothing all too special.

Bottle 500ml (BZ, BB 09/2015)
Clear golden color, small white head. Sweetish maltyness in the aroma and also very light herbal hops. Medium-bodied, oily palate. Semi-sweet maltyness in the flavor, low bitterness. Malty and not very alcoholic bock for this ABV. Very clean, malty flavor. Even a bit boring I would say although nothing wrong in this brew.
