Bottle, 228 yen from Liquor Moutain. 4.8% ugh, an incredibly skunky/catpiss aroma lept from the bottle when I opened it. The aroma in the glass is mostly grassy. The pour was an incredibly pale straw gold with a thick fluffy white head of foam. The taste is better than the aroma with grass, hay & a pleasing bitterness. It is an ok tasting pils but I dislike the initial aroma & the aftertaste is also so so.

It’s from can. Light body with thin texture. Grass / bread malt. Plenty of herbal Hops. Mostly bitter taste going on through the long finish. Average German Pilsner

Had on tap at Himalaya Restaurant in Kaiserslautern. Slightly hazy golden color with medium white head. Aroma is bread, malt. Taste is same, very smooth, delicious. A step up from their pils.

Bottle. Pours clear pale golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of yeast with notes of hops, grain and paper. Bitter, hoppy taste with yeasty and paperlike notes. Rather watery, evern for a Pilsener. Bitter and cardboardlike finish. Nothing special.

Sampled on draft at Epcot this beer poured a very pale yellow color with a large creamy white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet with notes of artificial sugar and grass. The flavor was crisp, perfumey, and grassy with a bit of cracker and turned a bit dry. Long dry perfume and grass finish. Light body. Meh.

Clear Pale Yellow, Foamy Head, Light Lacing. Sweet malt, Light Bitter. Nice creamy mouth feel. Easy to drink, pretty good for what it is.

11.2 oz bottle, thanks to Mark Daanen at Daanen’s Deli! I always say the best beer is a free beer and I stand by that! Pours clear pale gold with a largish off-white pillowy head with great retention; leaves some gnarly lacework and a blanket of foam that stays there down to the last drop. Aroma is skunky, wet hayfield, citrus powder drink, bread. Taste starts out lightly sweet and turns a little bitter in the finish and lingers a little bit. Flavor has notes of creamed corn. Body is thin, carbonation average. Although it has its problems, it’s worth a taste.

Aroma: grassy, malty, a bit skunky. Taste: very clean and crisp, dry and bitter, with a pretty long bitter after-taste.

Draught. Clear, golden colour with a medium sized, white head. Sweet aroma with grass hops, pale malts a hint of vegetables. A hint of hay. Taste is light bitter. Light to medium body with an average carbonation. Finishes bitter with grassy hops. Nice German pilsener.

On tap at Radeberger Spezialausschank, Dresden. Slightly hazy golden with a bubbely, white head. Mild malty aroma with hints of yeast and hops. Goes down pretty easy. (Backlog: tasted 2011-08-06)
