Sediment-laden cloudy orange body, big puffy off-white head. Sweet malt, biscuit, and slightly metallic aroma with hints of clove. Light, bready body with moderate metallic notes, in addition to very light banana and clove flavors. Smooth and easy-drinking. A slight diversion from the typical Oktoberfest style, not bad, but not remarkable.

(bottle) Clear golden colour with a big foamy head. Shy fruity and sweet malty aroma. Medium sweet flavour, medium body. Dense banana fruity taste with a malty background and a slight clovy and citric finish, not lasting but rather sticky. Not very convincing.

(Bottle 50 cl) Cloudy, deep dark and opaque. Extremely full-bodied and potent with some sweetness underneath. Notes of oak, port, dates - you name it, all good stuff. Bears some resemblance to strong, Belgian ales - even the abbey styles. An excellent beer. 081000

(Bottle 50 cl) Dark golden with a surprisingly thin head. Less fruity and citrusy fresh than the typical Hefe - this resembles a traditional lager or Kristall Weizen. Not very full-bodied. This has less of most things, in a Christmas beer I would expect more. 270900

(Bottle 50 cl) Golden and clear with a tall head. Very prickling from a lot of CO2, but also rather fresh. A bit hard mouthfeel, not as smooth as your typical Hefe. A bit sulphurous with a very dry finish. 010300

(Bottle 50 cl) Very dark brown with a nice, full head. Very soft mouthfeel with notes of both chocolate and licorice. Less wheaty than your typical Hefe and not overly complex considering the four different malts. 220100

Bottle. Very weak wheat aroma. Quite cloudy golden colour. Big, rocky white head. Flavour is a bit watery. Some wheat flavour, but obviously something is missing. Quite bready. Prickly mouthfeel.

The last Erdinger beer that can be found in Croatia. Got it at the great Scout Club Irish Pub in Samobor. That means... I won’t be tasting any in quite a while. Yessss ! Drank from the Erdinger glass, Big and thick white head that dissipates at a very slow rate. Wonder if the wheat n/a’s are better than the regular n/a’s..... Well, if they’re like this one, no. The nose shows it, no typical weissbier esters, just bad n/a malt. Ugly. The taste is typical Erdinger nothingness, with touches of bad n/a malt, and cardboard and lemon. No aftertaste. The only difference between the regular n/a’s that can be found in Croatia and this is that this is worse than most, and a lot more expensive. Worthless and pointless.

Drank at a great little pub called Tolkien’s in Zagreb, from an Erdinger glass. Extremely overrated, like most Erdinger weissbiers. Pours a dark brown, with a medium tan thick head. Unfiltered I guess. Dark malts and raisins in the nose........where’s the taste ? Lemon. I could get only lemon, a bit malt/liquorice maybe, but lemon owns what little taste there is. There’s a faint roasty aftertaste. Refreshing, but this little taste in a weizenbock ?
